Lord Chris Mentillo is a “True King of Horror.” Practically his entire life -- macabre followed, and so he had no other choice, but to get involved. Therefore, it only made “perfect sense” for him to write, research, produce, create, and share horror stories, through music, movies, and his books -- starting first with his own life experiences.

“No matter what I tried to do or become in life, the macabre followed me everywhere I went: In my house, in my head, in my nightmares, on the roughest streets, in the most desolate corn fields, to even areas where many mortals refuse to go.” Until finally one day it dawned on me, and then it all clicked – why fight it.”

However, the problem these days seems to be trying to find enough time to write more, and keeping up with my intense imagination. Nevertheless, if I do (and I’m sure I will) I simply will seek out reading the best books on the subject."(less)

However, writing does not really even “feel” like work – especially when you love doing it. In fact, I cannot think of doing anything different from writing. Therefore, one of the best things about writing is its fun. This does not mean I do not take writing seriously. Additionally, you do not have any interruptions from anybody when speaking about what you wish to reveal to the world. Do you have something important you wish to share to the world? No problem, you can take all the time you want to make it right, by writing how you feel about what’s most important to you, and when you are ready, share your writing with the masses. How cool is that?”(less)

Chris Mentillo NEVER GIVE UP: "Never Quit"
By Chris Mentillo

To the masses, the infamous writer, commentary and editor, Edgar Allan Poe was a legend -- a literary genius. And even years later, Poe's work and name, resume being synonymous with romantic poetry, and even horror. One thing we know for sure, Edgar Allan Poe proceeds to be respected and remarkably widespread today. But why?

Quite frankly, Edgar Allan Poe's life had much to do with the perplexity of his literature. For instance, like Poes own life, the preponderance of his poems exhibited stories of horror and the macabre. Nevertheless, Poe was no quitter -- at least not with his writing anyway. Poe may have given up on his own life somewhere down the line with his excessive alcohol and drug consumption, and the unfortunate passing of several women, whom he loved and cherished. However, with all this demise and loss lingering in his life and more, Edgar Allan Poe was not going to quit.

So, Poe committed and dedicated himself to remain steadfast to literature, and then used his own life, as a catalyst for his stories of horror. No matter the situation, particularly financially, Edgar Allan Poe proceeded to pen out -- story after story. And even though it barely ever put a scrap of gold or food on his table, one thing Poe never did, was give-up and quit his amazing writing talent. And thank God for that. Perhaps, this is why I (as well as thousands of others) continue to love and cherish him today. Never Quit. Never Quit.

-- Chris Mentillo "You can quit your day-time job, but not your dreams." -- Chris Mentillo
