M. Rees grew up filling her bookshelves with Sydney Sheldon and Judith McNaught paperbacks. Now in her thirties, she’s in love with and collects hardcover copies of Young Adult and Paranormal fictions.

She lives in United Kingdom with her husband and three children. So far, in life, she’s been a barista, a bar tender, a cashier, and a retail shop employee. She now unequally divides her time between family, writing and her current work.

A Person in a Narrative Work of Arts

If I could blow life into my characters, I would. For I have created them, and I have let them speak in my head for far too long that I literally ache to see them in the flesh. Especially now that I have shared them to the world, it’s almost like a crime to keep them confined within the pages of a book.
Believe it or not, immortalizing their individual voices was my reason for publishing. An Read more of this blog post »

Insight by M. Rees
"This story is amazing. I couldn’t stop reading. I love all the characters Elle, Lennox but specially Ian. This is not your typical YA story. Can’t wait to read more from this author. "

“Dad fastens his knife jacket before putting his black pea coat on. He’s like a walking armoury. He has two guns on either side of his chest secured in his black shoulder holsters, an array of magazines on his belt and of course the knives. I don’t need to check to know he has two more guns strapped to both his legs. With his dark coat on, dark jeans and boots, and his weapons hidden away, he looks imposing but harmless. Unsuspecting people would never think of him otherwise.
He cocks his head. “Too much?” he asks.”
M. Rees, Insight

“Not everything is about you," Clary said furiously.
"Possibly," Jace said, "but you do have to admit that the majority of things are.”
Cassandra Clare, City of Glass

“It means 'Shadowhunters: Looking Better in Black Than the Widows of our Enemies Since 1234'.”
Cassandra Clare, City of Bones

“Declarations of love amuse me. Especially when unrequited.”
Cassandra Clare, City of Bones

“The meek may inherit the earth, but at the moment it belongs to the conceited. Like me.”
Cassandra Clare, City of Bones

“Can I help you with something?"
Clary turned instant traitor against her gender. "Those girls on the other side of the car are staring at you."
Jace assumed an air of mellow gratification. "Of course they are," he said, "I am stunningly attractive.”
