Studia
1974–1979 Střední uměleckoprůmyslová škola v Praze, obor Propagace (prof. Václav Bláha st., Vladimír Bauer a Emil Duras)
1979–1985 Vysoká škola uměleckoprůmyslová v Praze, ateliér Knižní kultura a písmo (prof. Milan Hegar, doc. Přemysl Rolčík)
V roce 2014 byl habilitován na docenta.

Po „vojně“ v AUS nastoupil na profesionální dráhu grafika na volné noze. Od té doby graficky upravil nebo ilustroval desítky knih, zejména pro nakladatelství Albatros a Kalich, a letteringem přispěl k vydání desítek kultovních komiksů. Do roku 1990 se věnoval i malbě a litografii, pak už jen užité grafice, reklamě a pedagogcké činnosti.
