You betcha, Graeme. I'm not much into vampires and villains and such, but it looks like you've got a good thing going with your writing. Good on ya!

Doug Oudin One of the best compliments I've received on my new book, 'Five Weeks to Jamaica' occurred today when a reader punched me in the arm and told me she was mad at me. When I asked why, she told me that she couldn't get to sleep until after 3 a.m. after reading one of the plot twists in my book.
I apologized (with a grin) and asked whether it was due to bad writing or just a desire to see the storyline have a different (and more predictable) flow. She commented that 'it was just an unexpected twist, and one that made her feel crummy about what happened between two of the characters'.
For me, to create a work that affects someone enough to have them slug me, is very gratifying (as long as it's just a little friendly slug).
