The Little Dinner Book Review & BONUS Quite Literally Books Collection! 😍❤️🌟📚

I was incredibly charmed by this quaint little book about dining and dinner parties—which was originally published in 1892! I adore cookbooks that you can "read" (similar to cookbooks by Gladys Taber and Nigel Slater) and, even more, I love anything that has to do with entertaining from past decades. This subject is absolutely fascinating to me!

Miss Buncle Married by D.E. Stevenson
"What a delightful book to start off 2026. Miss Buncle has married Arthur Abbott. Living in Hampstead Heath, they are expected to entertain and be sociable. To get away from it all, they decide to move. They move to Wandlebury, a small English village" Read more of this review »

Susan in NC
Susan in NC is 40% done with Celebrations at Thrush Green: “It was a time to relish one’s home. In the dark of the year, when…the long evening stretched ahead, the people of Thrush Green turned to their fires, books, knitting, needlework and, sometimes, television...Domestic comforts became doubly precious: a warm bed, a hot drink, the snugness of curtains shut against the night’s chill, all brought comfort in the dismal days of January.”

“You can never have too many books or too many hugs.”
Gina House

“I am beginning to learn that it is the sweet, simple things of life which are the real ones after all.”
Laura Ingalls Wilder

“You can never have too many books or too many hugs.”

“Perhaps, after all, our best thoughts come when we are alone. It is good to listen, not to voices but to the wind blowing, to the brook running cool over polished stones, to bees drowsy with the weight of pollen. If we attend to the music of the earth, we reach serenity. And then, in some unexplained way, we share it with others.”
Gladys Bagg Taber

“Old houses, I thought, do not belong to people ever, not really, people belong to them.”
Gladys Taber

“Fill your paper with the breathings of your heart.”
