’15:17 to Paris’ Film Review
15:17 to Paris is a true story based on the heroism that three young American men showed while traveled from Amsterdam to Paris while on a European multi-country sight seeing trip. While on the train, an Islamic terrorist attempted to open fire on innocent people in a train car. By some miracle, they managed to tackle the terrorist to the ground and gain control over him, saving only god knows how many lives. And granted that I saw liberals attempting to shit all over this movie, I figured that it must be a gem that I have to see. So I basically grabbed the fiancé and said “We’re going!”
I’ll start out by stating what I really enjoyed. First things first, I’m a fan of Clint Eastwood’s directed movies. I loved films such as ‘Trouble with the Curve’, ‘Hereafter’, ‘American Sniper’, ‘Sully’, and a boatload more. He seems to enjoy bringing lots of true life stories to the screen and giving his audience an emotional impact that other directors often lack. He’s also one of the only directors where if I learn he’s directing, it’s pretty much a done deal that I’ll see the movie. Not only because he called millennials pansies, but also because I truly do love his story telling and directing. And the man ain’t no spring chicken. Yet he’s still going.
I also liked that Clint Eastwood had the original trip who actually lived the experience acting this film in the leading roles to give it more authenticity. He did the same for the rescue crews in boats in his film Sully portraying the airliner that crashed into the Hudson starring Tom Hanks. It’s just a special thing that I think adds a bit to the film. I will admit that at times it did feel a bit flat for this reason, given that none of these men were trained actors, their lines sometimes felt a bit stale, but that’s also the reason I didn’t go in with high expectations. I was prepared for this film to be unmemorable and mediocre because the actors weren’t professionally trained. But oddly enough, that wasn’t a significant drawback.
I also liked that they chose to film in many of the same settings that the young men saw on their trips. If for no more reason than the beautiful European eye candy of architecture and such.
The film starts out with two single mothers having a meeting with a school teacher that seemed to think putting their boys on medications would help them to stop misbehaving in class. The mothers were obviously upset by this and who wouldn’t be? We see three young boys struggling to make it in school, without a father in the home, mothers genuinely trying to make their lives easier, and feeling as though they’re failing because the boys don’t seem to behave while in class. But regardless of struggles during their youth, they all manage to find their way on some level. And as it’s shown later in the film after one of them takes a break from the military, their lives which might have appeared a bit lost and chaotic, all brought them to the same place at the same time, allowing them to take down a terrorist who otherwise would have caused an insane amount of bloodshed.
The pacing of the film did feel quite slow during parts simply because the actual event of them saving the day was only about fifteen minutes of the whole movie and parts of it are spliced throughout before you see the event in its entirety. But I imagine having to create a back story for these characters who were real life figures took a considerable amount of time and effort. It does cause the relatively short film to feel slow in parts, but given that we do see the finale toward the end, we do feel that the plot line is progressing toward something substantial.
Overall, this was a good film. Not my favorite from Eastwood, not even by a mile. But overall, a good film about three Americans who saved countless lives and only managed to do so because they had military experience to back them up. They were in the right place at the right time and it would have been a tragic day for the French and many families had they not been there.
I give this film four stars out of five. It loses a star primarily because the pacing did feel off and the acting was flat at times, but I can forgive these flaws given that the aim was for authenticity in the story telling and through the use of the real life heroes over trained actors. It also pissed off a lot of people because it portrayed the terrorist in an accurate way and didn’t show leniency toward Islam like so many mainstream media outlets would want…so yeah…bonus points there. I recall when ‘Patriot’s Day’ came out many leftists had a similar reaction claiming that it wasn’t sympathetic to terrorists and some had the same reaction to this film. And that’s just another reason why I love Eastwood. He tells it like it is.
Victory for Putin
Not a big surprise. The Russians have been through such staggering years of social upheaval in 20th century, if they found even a moderate form of stability I would expect them to hang onto it with their dear lives.
MOSCOW (AP) — Vladimir Putin rolled to a crushing re-election victory Sunday for six more years as Russia’s president, and he told cheering supporters in a triumphant but brief speech that “we are bound for success.”
There had been no doubt that Putin would win in his fourth electoral contest; he faced seven minor candidates and his most prominent foe was blocked from the ballot.
His only real challenge was to run up the tally so high that he could claim an indisputable mandate.
With ballots from 80 percent of Russia’s precincts counted by early Monday, Putin had amassed 76 percent of the vote. Observers and individual voters reported widespread violations including ballot-box stuffing and forced voting, but the claims are unlikely to dilute the power of Russia’s longest-serving leader since Josef Stalin.
As the embodiment of Russia’s resurgent power on the world stage, Putin commands immense loyalty among Russians. More than 30,000 crowded into Manezh Square adjacent to the Kremlin in temperatures of minus-10 degrees (15-degrees F) for a victory concert and to await his words.
Putin extolled them for their support — “I am a member of your team” — and he promised them that “we are bound for success.”
Then he left the stage after speaking for less than two minutes, a seemingly perfunctory appearance that encapsulated the election’s predictability.
Since he took the helm in Russia on New Year’s Eve 1999 after Boris Yeltsin’s surprise resignation, Putin’s electoral power has centered on stability, a quality cherished by Russians after the chaotic breakup of the Soviet Union and the “wild capitalism” of the Yeltsin years.
Notice how the mainstream media didn’t hesitate to compare Putin’s long standing position to Stalin’s and claim that forced voting took place? Ironic given that the mainstream media didn’t give a damn about Stalin’s reign of terror during his time in power and came back to the United States claiming communist Russia was a vision of a perfected future. And that they fail to take illegal voting in the United States seriously but apparently forced voting in Russia merits mentioning.
A tweet from Lana Lokteff of Red Ice TV reveals how stiff the competition was and what the opposition had to offer. Given her Slavic roots, I imagine she watched the Russian election with great interest.

Putin winning.
In 2nd, Jewish Communist Pavel Grudinin. Russia has had enough bloodshed & ruin by his fellow Bolsheviks!
In 3rd a ‘Russian nationalist’ who is Jewish.
If a commie won, the west would love Russia!
And where is the lie? Mainstream media journalists loved Russia when they thought communism could be applied here in the U.S. if they just subverted the nation a little more, rocking it to its core piece by piece and degrading everything that made the West superior. But let’s face it, the mainstream media doesn’t hate Putin or Russia because he’s a supposed tyrant. They hate him because he symbolizes the failure of communism. And Russia can never be forgiven for giving up on communism.
I will be the first to admit that I don’t keep up with Russian politics unless the mainstream wants to trash Putin. And why would I? My concerns are about the West. Let Putin take care of Russia and let the Russians decide what is best for Russia. And I guess that’s was really pisses off the mainstream media. The Russians did what they thought was best for their own country, which wasn’t going with another commie.

Tiana Dalichov Doxxed
[image error]….by who? I’m 90% certain that I know the two parties involved that sold her out to the left wing media, but I can’t say much more than that at this time.
My co-host of On the Write was the victim of a hit piece by (((Rebecca Klein))) of the Huffington Post. A “reporter” with radically anti-white positions.
We knew this was coming beforehand and suspected the scale might be very large.
I made our show private on all my platforms for the time being for her protection. I don’t know if or when it will be back.
Tiana is doing ok and is continuing to fight. She is loved by her students and has a strong spirit. All the left does when they do this is create another warrior. Not that she wasn’t already. She has always been strong and willing to take to the battlefield. But now, she’s only going to get stronger.
She has requested privacy at this time, otherwise I would be making videos and trying to gather more support. But the sensitivity of the situation requires that I don’t for the time being.
Hail Tiana!

The Right to Bitch
[image error]
Terry Goodkind isn’t pleased with the new cover of his book because he feels it’s a poor representation of his characters. And quite obviously, there’s the feminist trope of a badass girl that men bow down to. Can’t imagine he likes that either. So naturally, the feminist authors on Twitter went aflame. Which only makes me like him more given that he took a poll on his Facebook on whether or not the cover sucked.
Terry Goodkind—best known for The Sword of Truth series—has publicly apologized after posting scathing criticism of the cover art for his latest book, Shroud of Eternity. The author eventually laid the blame on his publisher, Tor Books, but the artist who created the cover says it’s not good enough.
Goodkind recently wrote a post on Facebook calling his latest fantasy novel, “a great book with a very bad cover. Laughably bad.” In the post, Goodkind invited his readers to share their thoughts about the cover in a poll (which currently has almost 14,000 responses), saying he’d pick 10 random commenters to receive a signed copy.
Part of the Sister of Darkness: The Nicci Chronicles series, the cover art Goodkind criticized shares a similar look to the series debut, Death’s Mistress—no surprise, as they both share the same artist, Bastien Lecouffe Deharme. He’s a notable artist known for his work on Magic: The Gathering, but he’s also created book covers for several publishing houses, including Tor Books, Random House, Del Rey, and Orbit Books. Deharme said he was shocked when he found out what Goodkind had said about his latest work.
“[A friend] sent me a message that I found in the morning when I woke up, telling me that Terry Goodkind was using bad words to describe my artwork,” Deharme told io9. “I am a very confident person. I have had a long career, long enough for me to be able to take that… but this behavior is just not acceptable. Not only for me, but for all the artists that could be in the same situation.”
“I can take that, it’s no problem,” he added. “[But] if this happened to me five years ago, I think this would have destroyed me.”
After Goodkind posted his criticism of Shroud of Eternity’s artwork, Deharme responded to the post, sharing his frustration at the author’s behavior and garnering the support of notable authors and artists like Chuck Wendig and Leesha Hannigan. Goodkind has since apologized on Facebook—though he purposefully kept up the original post and poll “for the sake of the contest.” In his post, he said he wasn’t upset at Deharme, but rather the publisher, Tor Books, who reportedly didn’t send him the artwork until right before it went to print.
It’s funny to me that the artist should whine about how five years ago a comment like this would have career destroying effects when I’ve seen authors have THEIR careers destroyed because a publisher had an “artist” take some stock photos with some quick copy and pasting then VIOLA! A shitty cover that ruined the author’s prospects because the publisher couldn’t be bothered to pay a descent amount to make sure the book sold with any kind of continuity to merit another book in their contract.
Goodkind doesn’t have to like his cover. Many authors don’t. And many poor graphic designers and publishers have killed debut novelist’s prospects with cheap ass covers that didn’t give them a chance. So I don’t feel much sympathy for the artist or the publisher. Especially since I see common stock photos used on the covers at Barnes & Noble all the time that look cheaply cut and pasted.
I’ve said it many times, but you’re better of going indie. Not only do you get to control these things, but there are many graphic designers who are gifted with Photoshop that can make you a wonderful cover to your specifications. Unlike the publisher who probably doesn’t even give the artist a good concept to run with because they want that money from sales as fast as possible.
