John Sheehan is a professional writer who grew up in Rochester, Minnesota. His father, Michael, was an engineer at IBM and his mother, Deanna, was a nurse. In 1985 he graduated from Lourdes high school and moved to St. Paul. While in St. Paul, he attended the University of St. Thomas, graduating with a degree Journalism.

John currently lives in Farmington, Minnesota just south of the Twin Cities, with his wife Shelly, his two daughters, Genevieve and Olivia, and their French Brittney Gus.
