Paso las horas delante de mi ordenador, para el que tanto ahorré y al que adoro en la intimidad de la luz del flexo. Me gusta la playa, conducir mi furgoneta, los perros, pasarme horas en el agua y no sentir frío, comer con las manos y escribir. No me gustan los despertadores, tampoco hacer la cama y lo que menos, los pimientos (sí, sufro de pimientofobia).

De mi infancia destaco mi tenacidad, que no terquedad, por convertirme “de mayor” en veterinaria y escritora y mi admiración por la indomable Pippi Langstrumpf. Lo primero lo conseguí—soy veterinaria y también, autora—, y lo segundo me llevó hasta la isla de Gotland, en Suecia, a la mismísima casa de Pippi.

Escribo desde muy pequeña. En la casa de mis padres hay cajas enteras llenas de cuentos y periódicos caseros frutos del delirio infantil que sobrevivieron al diseño minimalista de mi madre: historias originales, adaptaciones y noticias familiares acompañadas siempre de ilustraciones, al principio escritas a mano, después con la máquina de escribir que mi padre prejubiló tras la compra de su primer Spectrum.

Después de terminar la carrera y de trabajar algunos años, colgué mis botas de goma de veterinaria para seguir el gusanillo de la creatividad. Decisión que no extrañó a quien me conocía.

Mi formación en dramaturgia sucedió, de un modo casi natural, en los departamentos de desarrollo y guion de las más importantes productoras gallegas. Guiones de cortometrajes, largometrajes, adaptaciones de novelas… El audiovisual influyó en mi manera de trabajar las historias, importando la estricta organización del guión: storyline, escaleta, tratamiento y ¡primera, segunda y tercera versión del libro!

Me estrené en el mundo editorial con Aldea Poética. Dadaísmo en verso (editorial Ópera Prima, 2010), un libro de poemas para niños en el que comparto autoría con Ouka Lee, Luis Eduardo Aute o Rafael Soler, entre otros, y al que aporto dos poemas dadaístas: “Pinzas aladas” y “Palabras jaula”.

En el año 2013 publiqué la novela infantil O poder de Amabel con la editorial Sushi Books, un sello nuevo que creyó en mí y apostó por mi primer libro. Autotraduje O poder de Amabel del gallego al castellano —El poder de Amabel— y después también se publicó en catalán —El Poder De L’amabel— y eusquera —Amabelen boretea—. En enero de 2016, El poder de Amabel fue adaptado al teatro por la compañía Pérez & Fernández con gran éxito de público y crítica.

En verano de 2015 publiqué mi segunda novela, para un lector preadolescente, Ulises e as cronoamigas (en gallego) y Ulises y las cronoamigas (en castellano), también con la editorial Sushi Books. Aventura en los 50: Surfistas en California es el primer título de una serie de libros para niños entre 8 y 12 años ilustrada por el genial Jacobo Fernández Serrano.

Pocos días después de la presentación de Ulises e as cronoamigas, el seis de junio de 2015, en la Illa de San Simón, recogí el prestigioso premio Merlín de Literatura Infantil de la editorial Xerais por la novela Nena e o mar. El libro, con las maravillosas ilustraciones de Dani Padrón, me mantuvo ocupada de colegio en colegio durante todo el curso escolar 2015-2016 e hizo de pasaporte literario para acceder a las ferias internacionales de libro, la de Fránkfurt (Alemania) y la de Guadalajara (México). ...more
