We used to have a Long's in Castro Valley, which had some really crappy $1 Pickwick cassettes. Pickwick is like a low-rent K-tel. But, you know what, I got a tape of those early Bob Marley records that Lee Perry produced, and this morning I realized that it was one of those epiphanies when Bob says, in that wobbly, early recording of "Trenchtown Rock," he says "hit me with music / harder, 'til I bleed!" and that's how I figured that one had to make it physical.
