My Forthcoming New Young Adult Memoir
I’m a believer that reading books makes us more knowledgeable and more tolerant of those we perceive as different. That’s why I love books, whether it’s reading or writing them. I’m so excited about my new forthcoming book, “A Long Way to School: A Story of Overcoming Challenges and Never Giving Up.”

Evolving Through Adversity
Hello dear reader,
Seconde Nimenya here, the author of the award-winning finalist book called Evolving Through Adversity: How to Overcome Obstacles, Discover Your Passion, and Honor your True Self.
In this book I take you on an intimate journey through my formative years and share openly the life lessons I learned along the way. I share my own life struggles, including surviving civil wars in my native country of Burundi in East-Central Africa, fighting to get an education, experiencing family dynamics, and much more reflections; as an example of how you can evolve through adversity in your life. You’ll be inspired to reflect on your own obstacles to see how everything you've experienced this far, has led you to where you are right now, and was necessary for your personal growth to reach your true purpose in life.
