Dear Awesome Readers,

I have good news, bad news, and GREAT news. Let's start with the bad and get that out of the way: It took me ALOT longer to finish Beautiful Temptation than I'd originally expected. I was honestly planning to have it out in January/February of this year, but a few unforeseen (and rather unfortunate) circumstances got in the way of that and I truly hope you understand.

GOOD NEWS: I changed the cover of Beautiful Failure for the last time I swear! LOL Thank you Najla Qamber Designs for re-designing it and giving it a unique look that fits with the rest of the series.

 GREAT NEWS: The "rest of the series" now includes Beauty Hurts, a prequel that will come out around the same time as Beautiful Temptation. I am super excited to release BOTH of these books to you, and to make up for the wait, Beauty Hurts (which is Leah's story--Trust me, you'll like her ) will be 99 cents on release day!!

I hope this news makes you happy, and I'll be releasing more details in the days to come!

It's currently 1:45 in the morning, and I'm staring at my computer screen--unable to look at my manuscript for another second.

So, quite naturally, I've decided to pour a couple shots and end this night properly.

I've ripped this latest book apart, redrafted it again and again, and yet I fucking hate it. There. I said it.

I. hate. it.

The prose is pretty, the flow is fluid, but the words are just words and they're not "saying" anything. At least, to me.

The story is there, the characters are behaving like themselves--evolving into who they need to be, but something is missing and I've been trying to find it for a very long time...

Hopefully tomorrow when I wake up and the alcohol has run its course, I'll have a new insight on things...

Sooo last night, I was in the middle of writing a scene for this book I'm supposed to writing--something called Beautiful Temptation. I think that's the name of it...I think.

Anyway, I was taking a break and realized that there was no more juice in my refrigerator, but there WAS this awesome sweet/sour mix...

Since it was late and I didn't want to add any alcohol, I thought to myself, "What if I drank this stuff by itself? Wouldn't that be just like drinking lemonade?"

No. Fuck no.

Don't get me wrong, it tasted GREAT! I mean, after six cups of it, I was feeling pretty good! But today? The morning after?

My head is throbbing, my heart is beating some type of rhythm that can't be explained, and I'm pretty sure that sitting up shouldn't be this damn hard...

Was it too much sugar? Corn syrup? Someone else has to have done this before! What gives? Tell me!

Sigh.

In other news though, I changed my cover again and this one is fucking awesome! No, really. It has that "New Adult-ish" feel and I can't wait to show it to you!

This is the last time, I swear...I think. :-)

Thank you Ernest Hemingway for the useful words that I've recently applied to my writing career. Your advice actually works. Sometimes.  :-)

Anyway, it's currently 3 AM CST and I've just realized two things: 1) Readers are effin awesome. Like, fucking incredible.  2) I need to change my book's cover. Again...Like, there needs to be a raven on there somewhere, or a tattoo, or weed leaves. Or, I need a new cover model altogether. LOL

But seriously...It's bothering me again. Hmmm.

Until I figure that out..back to the writing...Did anyone else notice that we don't even know how old Carter Black is? No? Just me? :-)

Sooo, first things first: THANK YOU to each and every person who has read Beautiful Failure so far! The response has been overwhelming and I'm totally grateful for the fact that you've let Emerald and Carter into your lives :-) I've met some of the most amazing bloggers while on the blog tour (Special thanks to Mary Elizabeth of Mary Elizabeth's Crazy Book Obsession) and I can't wait to finish my online collage of all the amazing reviews that were written :-)

Second, why didn't anyone tell me that the old cover (while pretty in an enlarged state) resembled the perfect example of fugliness with extra shit on the side as a thumbnail? Like, seriously, you could've told me...LOL! I've changed it for now, but I'll probably change it again so...Yeah :-)

Third, someone asked me when the second book was coming out earlier and I was like, "I'm supposed to be writing a second book? Really? I was getting pretty attached to doing nothing..." Soon, my friend. Soon. :-)

My life has been a fucking mess (A. Fucking. Mess.) over the past ten days because of randomness I'll get into later this week, but the best part has been receiving the awesome emails/messages from you...THANK YOU. They mean the world to me :-)

I'm honestly honored and humbled to be on your bookshelf, and I hope you'll have me again.
