There will be some terrible writing along the way, but you will eventually get out of it. I find it best to leave some projects for a day or so and work on something else or take a break and just scribble thoughts down. Since I like to write longhand, it makes that process easier and it always seems to loosen any blockades. (less)

I'm currently working on my first novel, Armageddon's Muse.

What do you do when your imaginary friend is real and she has to save the world?

For Gibb, the quiet life of research appeals to his introverted personality. In the inner world of his mind, he feels energized, thinking and exploring his emotions. When around other people, anxiety constricts him. After finishing his Masters, he begins work at the Johns Hopkins Department of Mental Health in hopes of benefiting his psyche and guiding him to his life's purpose.

Then a dream girl with beautiful eyes - one blue, one green - invades his withdrawn existence. When he awakens, he starts seeing the girl in reflections, as if she were on the edge of his world. Just as he feels his sanity slipping, the girl appears in his bedroom, claiming to have been stored inside his mind.

A visit to a psychiatrist named Dr. Charles and a confrontation with "the others" propels Gibb on a journey that gives his life the meaning he desires. With the help of his friends Carson, Tina and a gregarious receptionist named Fionnula; they prepare the girl for the fight of all their lives. Are they ready for the odds they face?

Armageddon's Muse is an 80,000-word story that examines the conflict between what we label good and evil as well as the battle that goes on inside us.

some updates

I have a few things out or coming out soon.

Hannah's Trophy is a flash fiction piece out now. It's the story of a young girl, a gumball machine and the trophy inside.

A Constellation of Two is a ghost story with the setting being the USS Constellation that is located in the Inner Harbor of Baltimore City. I've been on the ship a few times and that and my idea of romance sparked this short story.
