How To Get Rid Of Restless Less Fast And Free

For anyone suffering from restless leg syndrome you certainly know how difficult it can be to sleep or accomplish everyday tasks during a flare up. Our staff loves to read books that help provide people with solutions and today is no different. In this article we will be discussing tips on how to get rid of restless legs fast.

1. Exercise- Despite some saying exercise does not help, others will tell you that exercising is a great way to get relief from RLS. Leg exercises in particular help get blood flowing. This blood flow helps with circulation and this has been proven to help with restless legs.
2. Diet-Again some think what you eat has no effect on how often your restless legs decides to rear its ugly head, but research proves otherwise. Changing your diet and eliminating starches and sugars dramatically helps.
3. Acupuncture- Now, we know acupuncture does not work for everyone, but for some people it works wonders. If you have not tried treating your RLS with acupuncture, you are missing out.
4. Pray It Away- For those of you that know the power of God, if you have not already tried praying the pain away, it is certainly worth a try. God is the ultimate healer and praying is absolutely free.
5. Pain Meds- We do not often recommend pain meds, but if you are really going through it, pain meds are a temporary option for relief.
6. Support Group and Forums- Joining support groups and browsing forums are a great way to get advice on how to get rid of restless leg syndrome.

Reign and Cozy Sunday Nights

Things that make me happy, even on a Monday:

1. The Texas Book Festival! It was so much fun to road trip to Austin this weekend and see some of my favorite authors. Also, traipsing around the Capitol wasn't too bad, either. :)
2. Reign. I thought I would get so upset with this show with all of its inaccuracies and anachronisms (I majored in early modern European history, and that time period is my absolute favorite), but I've learned to ignore those and just focus on all the fun drama. New guilty pleasure.
3. Using books as decorative items. I've pretty much fully unpacked in my new apartment, and one of the first things I did was arrange my bookshelves and stack books along the walls. My apartment is packed with books, and that's exactly how I like it.

4. A Sunday night with a huge mug of tea and a good book. I read Earthbound by Aprilynne Pike last night all in one sitting, and that along with a whole lot of cinnamon apple spice tea made me so very happy. Everyone should read this book--such a fresh story with a compelling protagonist and a whole lot of perfect romantic tension.

5. The Houston Book Rave this weekend! So many young adult and new adult authors are coming, and it takes place in my city--how could I not be excited? Can't wait!

Happy Monday, everyone! What's making you happy this week?

Random Musings: Thank You and Texas Book Festival

1. Thank you all so much for the support you've shown me after I announced my book deal on Monday! I am so overwhelmed by it all, and so very grateful. I keep saying this, but I really do mean it: the writing community is one of the most supportive, enthusiastic communities I've ever come across. Thank you.

2. I'm headed to the Texas Book Festival this weekend in Austin. There are so many authors from so many genres, and several awesome YA authors will be there. Anyone else going?

3. In case you missed it, the official announcement of Kristin Rae's book deal came out! She was one of my first blogging buddies, and since she's a fellow Houstonian, I've actually gotten to meet her (and yes, she's the coolest person ever). CLICK HERE to see her blog and read more about WISH YOU WERE ITALIAN (LOVE that title).

4. I made a Facebook author page (CLICK HERE to see it), and I think I'm going to like adding Facebook to my social media sphere. Though I could certainly use any tips you have about keeping it fun and fresh!

5. I moved into a new apartment this week, which is stressful and fun and everything in between. But everything is here now, and I've organized all of my books (priorities), so now I just have to unpack everything else!

Happy Friday, everyone! What are your weekend plans?

In Which I Get a Book Deal!

So, instead of listing things that make me happy this Monday, I've got some very happy news: I got a book deal! I signed with Razorbill, an imprint of Penguin, and my debut novel, CAPTIVATING, will be out in 2015!

This has been such a crazy whirlwind: I signed with my agent, the incomparable Alexandra Machinist of Janklow & Nesbit, and a few days later, I had an offer. Of course, it took me four years of dedicated writing to get here. And some terrible manuscripts. And some not-quite-good-enough manuscripts. And a whole lot of tears and moments of almost giving up. And even more support from this incredible writing and blogging community. Because I could not have--absolutely could NOT have--done this without y'all. So thank you so much, because you helped me make my dream come true.

Here's the description from Publisher's Weekly (because this explains the plot much better than I could):

For Penguin Young Readers Group’s Razorbill imprint, assistant editor Elizabeth Tingue took world English rights, in a two-book deal, to recent Harvard graduate Meredith Moore’s debut novel, Captivating. Moore, who Razorbill simply called a “history buff and world traveler,” was represented by Alexandra Machinist at Janklow & Nesbit. The book is about a girl named Vivian who was raised with one goal: to exact vengeance on the man who broke her mother’s heart two decades earlier. Enrolled at an English boarding school, Vivian targets an innocent senior named Ben as part of the revenge plot. But, Razorbill said, as the plan is set into motion, Vivian “starts to uncover secrets so dark and deadly that they threaten to unravel the very being that Mother worked so hard to create.”

Yay! Happy Monday, everyone!

Austin Teen Book Festival

This Saturday, I went to the Austin Teen Book Festival in the convention center in downtown Austin and had the BEST time.

First, I heard Maggie Stiefvater give the wonderfully humorous opening speech about being fearless and manifesting your dreams, not your nightmares.
Then I went to the Truth and Consequences panel, with E. Kristin Anderson, Bill Konigsberg, Jo Knowles, Sean Beaudoin, Jenny Han, Siobhan Vivian, and Rob Thomas, the creator of Veronica Mars. They talked about how important it is for teenagers to see controversial subjects in young adult literature, because they can identify with the characters. Rob Thomas also shared that Veronica and Logan were not the original endgame, until the writers realized what a compelling couple they were. As a huge Veronica and Logan fan, I am so very grateful for that. :)
The next panel I went to was Into Hearts of Darkness, with Victoria Scott, Mari Mancusi, April Genevieve Tucholke, Jon Scovron, Robin Wasserman, and Holly Black. They answered random questions of what kind of animal they would be and what most surprised them about becoming an author (Holly Black: that you have to talk to people). It was absolutely hilarious and a lot of good fun.

Holly Black gave the closing speech, telling us all how she grew up in a spooky old house and the importance of being a little bit scared.
I think my favorite part of the whole festival, though, was seeing all the teenagers (and some pre-teens) just SO excited about seeing their favorite authors and hearing them speak. Every panel I went to, boys and girls were sitting on the edge of their seats, determined to soak up every word.

If you ever get the chance to go, I can't recommend it enough.

Happy Wednesday, everyone! I'm heading to Europe (eep!) tomorrow, so I'll be off blogging until mid-October, but I hope everyone has a fabulous few weeks!
