Forde’s love of writing began with an early interest in reading and in words in general. She is a self-published author (Rise of the Papilion trilogy), founder of the free digital Christian art and lit publication, Lost Pen Magazine, as well as a freelance writer and editor. As an editor, Dyane’s goal is to help writers feel positive about their craft while assisting them in producing works they are proud of and are confident sharing with readers.

Dyane Forde Many of my characters and place names are variants of Biblical names. Jeru, Seylem (from Wolf's Bane), Marathana, are some examples. Other names I cre…moreMany of my characters and place names are variants of Biblical names. Jeru, Seylem (from Wolf's Bane), Marathana, are some examples. Other names I created while looking for ones that matched a cultural group (the Rovers, who are based off Vikings, have names that are related to Scandinavian names). And I admit, sometimes I just like to take regular names and twist them because they look cool: Seylem rather than Salem, is an example. In book 2 (Wolf's Bane) I develop a culture based on Japan and the names are inspired by that culture. Thanks for asking! (less)

Recently, I had a collaborative writing session with a friend to try to get going again, and things got really silly. But we had so much fun; it was great not worrying about things being perfect. That activity seemed to break down a wall and I feel refreshed and excited to write. (less)
