In The Beginning
In the Beginning
Through the process of sequencing and analysis much is now understood. The human genome, subject to the forces of scientific inquiry and persuasion, revealed some of its secrets. In doing so theories were either confirmed or destroyed. With the recovery of ancient nuclear and mitochondrial skeletal DNA and the application of this knowledge, the lives of those living fifty thousand years ago are connected to others from different millenniums, including people in current times. The extent of the geographical locations where ancestral links exist is impressive. Some, using this information, are now chronicling the movement of repeating exoduses as they occurred throughout history.
Humankind continues to pursue the description of creation. There are those who believe this recent awareness may be moving us ever closer to establishing the precise location of the garden, adding details to the Genesis narrative—“In the beginning”.
As it is and will always be the case, new understandings lead to different roads, some of which are not yet envisioned. However, at least one such pathway is now evident. The use of these discovered genetic facts with respect to the tracking of ancestry demands that another account surfaces. It is the story of how one assumed the forms of many and the effects this had and still has on the course of human interaction.

This is an excerpt from a envisioned novel tentatively titled "History Train". (Historical in nature, I am nearly half way. Accuracy is important so the work slowly evolves.)
I am wondering, as I am sure many are, 'how is it that some have become so fractured, so blind to our common humanity?'

Unbelievable But In A Good Way!
As I move forward with the so-called marketing of In Search of Sticks, which in this case simply amounts to raising awareness, I have sent out 'what, where and how' type stuff to specific groups who I believe will enjoy the subject material of the novel—those involved either as volunteers or as part of a career path where energies are directed to helping others. Housing, education, legal assistance, food, medical aid, are just a few of the areas being addressed by a multitude of individuals and this is being done at the local, national and international level. There are, without exaggeration, thousands upon thousands of such groups of committed people dispersed throughout the so-called Developed World. 'Societies For Human Justice' abound. I find this affirming. It is heart-warming. People donating their time—the most valuable thing in life they have and they are giving it away. Others who are 'paid' for their involvement are, almost always, receiving a compensatory rate that is far less than what they might receive should they apply themselves differently. By choosing this pathway they are making the world a better place. One has to conclude that this is more important to them than greater monetary recompense. As I said, I am amazed. Go ahead, visit a net search engine.... type in the words "non profit" and a location and see what comes up. It is unbelievable, but in a good way!
