The Bank Security Breach
The train swayed abruptly as it came to a halt. Passengers streamed on and off in the morning rush. Calista Davis closed her eyes momentarily to ease the nausea from reading. Reading on moving trains always did this to her. Behind her two women settled in their seats. Talkers. Just great. Now she'd never get done reading this book for her review.
"Ouch!" A raspy voice could be heard. One of those voices that would instantly annoy your ears and couldn't be forgotten. "These shoes are killing me. My feet are already sore from running stairs the last two days."
"You're not the only one! I had to run them too. And now the printer on the third floor is broke too. I'm so sick and tired of hearing Longnose yell about broken printers I could scream. You'd think they could afford to have stuff that actually worked." A second voice chimed in.
Calista couldn't help it. She listened in fascination.

Clarissa Montgomery Hayes and Paw, her Saint Bernard, are headed to the beach with their friends, Jac and Shelbee, for some rest and relaxation. They are going to stay at the beach house of Jac's Aunt Carol. But when they arrive the beach house is empty.
No one is worried since they assume Aunt Carol left early to visit her relative. Then Paw discovers Aunt Carol's ring on the beach. Jac swears she would never leave without it.
Where is Aunt Carol? No one seems to know. What could have happened to her? And what are the strange lights at sea? Someone needs to investigate and Clarissa and Paw are the perfect team to do it.

Clarissa agrees to go over and shut it so that Mrs. Carstairs doesn’t go out into the ice and snow. Going to close the door, Clarissa is surprised to find the dead body of a man in the shed. Who could it be? How did he die? And more importantly, is Mrs. Carstairs in danger?

More importantly, why is the boy’s stepdad so determined to get the bear back?
