I have worked on a dairy, yes milking cows, as a hamburger flipper in a fast food restaurant, and as a construction worker. I have worked as a pest control technician (bug guy), I have produced a short film, I have been a Military Officer for 10 years, and I live in the always too hot state of Florida. I have traveled to Africa, Europe, and the Middle East (and exotic Canada and Mexico).
I am an avid reader. You might say an extremely passionate reader. For as long as I can remember, I read. Whether it was historic America or Europe, Narnia, Middle Earth, or the Four Lands of Shannara, I spent hours of each day of my childhood in the worlds authors had created.

I salute you

A letter to women entering U.S. Army service in the Combat Arms, written by an Infantry and Military Intelligence Officer with 12 years of service.

Full disclosure: I used to be against your entry into Combat Arms. However, through slowly and painfully confronting my own fears and pride, my thinking has begun to evolve.

I am proud to be a part of this Army and equally proud to soon share

“I believe providing every little smidge of information, while a testament to the author, does not allow the reader to experience the story in a personal way. In light of that, I tried to leave slivers of “white space” that the reader has the opportunity to fill with their own ideas, concepts, and memories. In that way, I invite the reader to become an active part of the journey.”

“Besides being complicated, reality, in my experience, is usually odd. It is not neat, not obvious, not what you expect.”
C.S. Lewis

“You think you are reading proof, whereas you are merely reading your own mind; your statement of the thing is full of holes & vacancies but you don't know it, because you are filling them from your mind as you go along. Sometimes--but not often enough--the printer's proof-reader saves you--& offends you--with this cold sign in the margin: (?) & you search the passage & find that the insulter is right--it doesn't say what you thought it did: the gas-fixtures are there, but you didn't light the jets”
Mark Twain

Mark Lein I hope it is not tacky but I just rated my own book based on 2 amazon reviews. I pasted the 2 reviews from amazon, this is not me rating my own book...one was a 4 star and the other a 5 star so I rounded down to 4.

Let me know if this disturbs you.
