Even college romance stories require research though heaven knows I've been there and done that!
The Latest RESEARCH TIDBITS
So one of the things that's cool to do in a story is have a "signature scent" for the hero and/or heroine.
But I didn't want it to be the same old spicy musky scent, so I did some research.
How?
I googled men's colognes. And I found the perfect one for Jack Hunger, BMOC. Since he doesn't have a lot of money, I didn't want to use one of those crazy expensive chi-chi designer colognes. So this is what I found!
Perfect, don't you think?
Here's the ad copy:
"Hard-working men don't have time to screw around with messy sprays that leave them smelling like they were attacked by the perfume lady at the mall. They need a fool-proof way to smell good on the go.... perfect for gym bags... lasts a good long time"
The Scent:
"The Bourbon Solid Cologne offers a woodsy, oak barrel scent inspired by the rack houses at our favorite place in the world, the Buffalo Trace Distillery."

Hockey + Romance = Yikes!
There's something about those college years that's super exciting, dorms, sororities, the players--especially the hockey jocks!
Hockey players are understated in their cocky confidence and in killer shape--talk about stamina!!
Did you know they need to eat 7,000 calories a day to make up for all that energy they expend on the ice?
And that doesn't even count the Big D energy.
My newest release, Your Kiss Is On My List , all about a hockey player at St. Paul U and his best friend from childhood who is too grown up not to want a new grown up relationship with, and their ill-fated fake girlfriend-boyfriend pretense.
Of course there's a whole lot more to the story, but here's a little TEASER:
"Come with me to my dad's house in New York for the weekend. I need the moral support."
"What's the catch?" Because the way she's looking at me, I know there is one.
"We'll have to share a bedroom because I told him we were... serious."
"Serious? Seriously?" I'm stalling to get my sh*t together because I'm not sure if she's inviting me to sleep with her or if she expects me to sleep on the floor. There's no way I can sleep on the floor with her in the bed in the same room. No sleeping would be involved either way.
"Well?" she prompts and I'm still afraid to ask about her intentions...
