Deborah Bence Boerema loves children, dogs, and writing. Deb has been a published textbook author for years. When she started writing for younger children, it seemed only natural that her first main character, Thaniel the Spaniel, should be a dog. When Deb's not working at her computer (with a dog in her lap!), she enjoys camping and bicycling with her son and husband in Central Ohio. ...more

What a wonderful project to channel your efforts toward during the quarantine. As much as I hate to miss an opportunity to meet readers in person, I'm afraid I don't yet feel comfortable attending this type of event in our current health environment. Please keep me in mind for any events you might plan further in the future. Also, I'd be happy to send you a copy of my book for your LFL. Please PM me through my author page on Facebook to give me your address: www.facebook.com/AuthorDeborahBoerema. Best wishes!(less)

My days aren't really more lazy than the rest of the year, but a few extra hours of daylight seem to provide a couple added moments for sinking into a good book.

Cozy culinary mysteries are my go-to genre when I have some "Read & Relax" downtime. I seldom make the recipes, but I enjoy perusing the list of ingredients and evaluating the preparation steps. I've been reading my way through Nancy Atherton's Aunt Dimity series, so I'll finish that out before moving to something else on my "To Read" list. (less)

Word for Word Valentine

It’s Valentine’s Day, and what better way to celebrate than with a new story written for Susanna Leonard Hill’s 2nd Annual Valentiny Writing Contest? This year, the challenge was to write a Valentine story appropriate for children in which someone is confused. The catch is the story is limited to a maximum of 214 words! I hope you enjoy my entry. As always, I’ve love to read your comments below.
