The Road Less Traveled
On the surface my books seem kind of random in their subject matter but they're actually all kind of tied together by the common thread of being somewhat out of the mainstream as far as sex is concerned. In "The Virgin Whore of New York" I'm looking at prostitution and the love/hate relationship that society had with sex in the Victorian era. "Free Love" examines the sexual revolution. I've written about gender transformation, love in the age of cybersex and most recently the often criticized and misunderstood lifestyle known as BDSM.
It seems to surprise some people that as a female author of romance novels I favor the fringe elements of the sexual experience over the more traditional "bodice rippers" and that my depictions of sexual activity are so graphic and explicit but the bottom line is I write about the things that interest me or that I know something about personally.
I'm interested in what makes people tick sexually and sometimes that leads down an unconventional path but I'm always hoping that there are other people out there who are as curious as I am.
