I wanted to be a writer from an early age and wrote my first book at the age of nine- a short story about a man who goes to space and discovers aliens. I was fascinated by words and how they came together to form stories.

It has always amazed me how stories and words can evoke so many different feelings and experiences and sometimes even change our whole outlooks, beliefs and basic understandings about the world.

In college, I studied English Literature. I loved digging into and analyzing stories almost as much as I loved writing them. I wanted to know how they worked, how they got put together. Stories tend to have a life of their own. Meanings spring out of words that writers don’t always know about or even intend.
