What are they all about? Here’s my quickest descriptions.
1. Keeping Minds: Join a shy neurologist Anna on a thrilling, twisted mystery about life, love, death, sex, and what it means to be human. She exposes cryptic family secrets after the tragic murder of a close friend, a crime she promises to solve herself and get personal revenge for. This is the story of discovering who she is and who she used to be.
2. Failing Minds: Follows a confident but struggling woman named Jill on a dark psychological journey about love, death, mental illness, sex, drugs, and the extremes she goes through to try and change her life for the better. Once she gets tied to her abusive boyfriend’s serious crimes, it’s all about covering up her past, and present at any cost. Following a parallel timeline, this book interacts with and expands on events from the first book, with different characters and a different perspective.
3. Losing Minds: This story picks up where the first two books left off. We rejoin Anna and a new “friend” on a twisted trip that you aren’t going to believe. It turns out, the killer Anna is looking for is closer than she thinks. Very, very close. All secrets are revealed, and all answers are given. You will never be able to guess the ending. That is a promise.

Finally, after 9 years of writing it’s almost here!

Here is a test print for my latest book, Losing Minds. It is an epic finale to my first two books, that you aren’t going to believe. It should be out in the next couple weeks.
Anna and Bern continue the hunt for David’s killer and the reality behind the work her father did with memory replacement. When she discovers the truth, Anna is exposed to a darkness inside herself which she could have never imagined. Bern is confronted with his, not so distant past and is secretly forced to go head-to-head with a new arch nemesis. Meanwhile, Detective Thatcher continues digging and starts disregarding the same laws he is supposed to uphold, in his intensifying quest to find Bern guilty of a crime. When he stumbles upon some new documents, he begins to believe the loving couple may be covering up related murders and possibly even planning more. It will take a final, explosive showdown to end it all.

Ink. a secret love affair told.
I love ink.
I love the way it flows, the way it feels, the permanency that it has. There is no going back from ink. Ink is forever.
Because of all of those same elements that make me love it, ink is also scary and intimidating. It’s cold and unforgiving. Once words are written in ink, they can only be distorted or covered, never removed. Ink will never change for you. It is indefinitely unswayable and stubborn.
Years ago, I used to feverishly write in little steno notebooks. I almost always had one with me. On the wire coil atop the pad of paper, I would have a specially chosen pen, attached by its cap.
This was my escape, housing a small chamber of the ink that I so dearly loved. Fluid blackness waiting to be released as some form of unchangeable human communication, possibly even a random doodle.
Maybe the ink inside would become love. Maybe some of it would be spilled out in anger. Or maybe it would simply become meaningless ramblings never meant to be shared.
I favored pens that bled easily. The messy ones that would pool and smear. I was always amazed at how their inky wetness shimmered in the light. I usually wrote faster than it took the ink to dry and I loved the way it stained my fingers because of it.
Sometimes I wonder how much ink I have gone through in my life. Would it be a matter of cups, liters…gallons perhaps? I wonder…
Aside from using ink to write words, of course I found other uses for it. I remember taking some wells of Indian ink from my high school art class. At home I wrapped some of my grandmothers sewing needles with thread to soak up the ink and hold it by the sharp steel tips. I sat for hours, puncturing skin by hand, giving myself tattoos which I still have today.
Those were the days when me and ink were inseparable. We were always together.
Unfortunately, I see ink a lot less these days. I write my books and notes on my phone. It’s fast effective and always there. Over one hundred and fifty thousand words so far, with no end in sight.
But…I miss ink. I really do. If I could say one thing it would be this…
I know we don’t see each other very often anymore, but, I still love you ink. And always will.

Layers. – a visual project of words.
I found this while cleaning my garage. It is 9 short messages that combine to make a bigger thought. Each layer is printed on a transparency. I put a sheet of paper behind each one in the pictures. In the first and last frame I clipped the sheets so they would stay close to each other, then I held them up to a light.
Back when I really started writing I wrote general thoughts with details inside of details. I filled notebook after notebook with random words.
Keeping Minds has been my first attempt at a fictional, plot based story. I think this old relic from years ago shows how even then, I wrote about detail and with hidden meanings. I’m happy to think that I successfully carried this over to my novel Keeping Minds.
Some notable items are my incomplete sentences and improper use of periods. In Keeping Minds I use notable one word sentences and a few incomplete sentences. The over use of periods can be seen on the cover, chapter titles…etc. You can also see the same positive underlying life theme here as we see in Keeping Minds. Enjoy everything. Experience the details. Live life.
I wrote and put this together for my wife when we first met over 10 years ago. We lived 1,200 miles away and I would send her things like this in the mail. She inspired me to start writing.
I just wanted to share it with everyone. Only a handful of people have ever seen this, but I think it has a good message that should shared. I hope you enjoy it!
Please share it if you like it.

The words:
A new perspective. So alternate to everything else. If everyone could see things like this. The world wouldn’t be so bad. Listening to words. Absorbing everything. Learning from every environment you ever encounter. Every person you ever meet. All the hurt you ever felt. So much written beauty come from. Hope and desire. Hurt and anger. A toast to all the pain. That sets the standards for joy. The more pain you have felt. The happier you can be over the little things. So touch everything. Feel everything. Try everything. The best way. With eyes wide open. Day to day. Taking your time. Ending each day knowing. You went out and felt. And helped. And touched someone. Then fall asleep. And sleep so peaceful. So deep. And dream. Dream of something special. A sweet tomorrow. Knowing you did what you have been put here to do.
-I see this person and all the time dream of you
-I hope you feel special
-You helped me
-See all the joy
-I see the beauty in everything you do
-New things from you everyday
-Bad words written to help someone so special
-Everything you desire you can have
-I hope you can feel something here
*addition* my wife just asked me what “bad words written…” meant. It was that I felt my words weren’t good enough.
