The Brand New World Of Book Publishing
Hi All,
Chris Akin here to scribble out my first blog on GoodReads!
My first published book, LITTLE VICTORIES: A TALE OF DIVORCE, DEBAUCHERY AND FINDING HAPPINESS, comes out on January 13th, and I'm beyond excited about it. That said though, it comes with a MAJOR learning curve. I am the first one to admit that I'm not your normal author. I'm not especially well read at all. Aside from rock n' roll tell alls and technical how to books, I really can't say that I've read more than 2 books in the last 25 years of my life. Because of that, all of the online stops to find out about new books are completely foreign to me. Still, I'm learning. GoodReads was recommended by some friends, and it seems to be a pretty sweet community for not only discovery new authors, but to get a taste of what people are enjoying reading these days.
Having spent so much time in the music business, I know the importance of searching out the places where people gather to not only find information, but share ideas. I'm hoping that GoodReads ends up being that place for me as I launch into this new venture of book publishing.
