Today, a contingent of women walking from North Carolina on The Great Mother March will be arriving in Washington D.C.  in honor of Earth Day. From wherever you are in the world,

Pierre Teilhard de Chardin
“(Evolution) general condition to which all theories, all hypotheses, all systems must bow and which they must satisfy henceforward if they are to be thinkable and true. Evolution is a light which illuminates all facts, a curve that all lines must follow.”
Pierre Teilhard de Chardin, The Phenomenon of Man

Martha Graham
“There is a vitality, a life force, a quickening that is translated through you into action and because there is only one of you in all time, this expression is unique. And if you block it, it will never exist through any other medium and will be lost. The world will not have it. It is not your business to determine how good it is nor how valuable it is nor how it compares with other expressions. It is your business to keep it yours clearly and directly, to keep the channel open.”
Martha Graham

Mahmud Shabistari
“Penetrate the heart of just one drop of water, and you will be flooded by a hundred oceans.
Mahmûd Shabistarî”
Mahmud Shabistari

Jalal ad-Din Muhammad ar-Rumi
“The world is a mountain. Whatever you say, it will echo it back to you. Don't say, "I sang nicely and the mountain echoed an ugly voice!" That is not possible. The human intellect is a place where hesitation and uncertainty take root. There is no way to overcome this hesitation except by falling in love.”
Rumi

Derek Walcott
“The time will come
when, with elation,
you will greet yourself arriving
at your own door, in your own mirror,
and each will smile at the other’s welcome.”
Derek Walcott, Sea Grapes
