Hero of the Merpeople? Ross Justice? What the Heck?
Ross Justice is an 11 year old boy who has some pretty incredible adventures. He saves the Merpeople and their kingdom of Atlantis in 3 short stories which make up my first children's book.
Writing books for 7-12 year old crowd was the last thing I imagined doing at the ripe age of 65. Life can be a long strange trip. I'm here to testify brothers and sisters.
I'd always heard that a writer should write in the same genre that he or she enjoys reading. I'm a retired history teacher so I love historical fiction. I also like biographies. However my main love is reading Westerns.
As a younger guy I probably thought Westerns were beneath me and a waste of time. The author Louis Lamour somehow entered my life and I was sucked in.
So why the children's books? Well my girlfriend told me that my mental age was still around 13 so there you have it.
I decided to give it a shot and found it a lot of fun and the bonus is it's easy for me. Well kind of.
Anyhow I enjoy telling stories and especially to children so there you have it. The first Ross Justice book was published in August 2013 and the 2nd will be coming out in a few weeks.
