Full time translator, usually boring admin stuff to make a living, but occasionally also fun/clever stuff (Tim Powers, Neil deGrasse Tyson, Jay Kristoff, Cory Anderson, Stephanie Garber, Tahereh Mafi...), as well as occasional writer with several short stories published in local magazines and anthologies. Hoping to complete (and publish) his debut novel before the heat death of the universe.

“Awesome design ideas. Why don’t you try selling them?”

A nice idea, but for a long time, that is all it was. But then technology progressed, modern print-on-demand dropshipping became a thing, I had a much loved, but long disused domain, and here we are.

I am mainly aimed at making rashguard designers for grapplers like myself – nerdy, sciency, and just a tad bit artsy. All too often grappling gear

So, what did Wells do before Murderbot? Apparently, warming up for it through some okayish gaslit fantasy that people love way more than I did. I mean, the writing is more than decent, especially the action scenes when things start happening, but tha ...more

Snake-Eater by T. Kingfisher
"Nešto mi je bilo teško da počnem al kad se zakuvalo nisam puštao.

Ponovo jedna dobra Kingfišerka, sa bar jednim ozbiljnim njakanjem od smeha. Može da bude ulazna knjiga u kingfišeraj

Povratak u pustinju je povratak i nekim starijim motivima, pogotovu n" Read more of this review »

"Što sam dalje odmicala kroz ovu knjigu to mi je bivalo sve jasnije da ni spektar tema ni lepeza mojih reakcija na nju neće moći da stanu u okvir jednog GR komentara.
A sve se desilo tako iznenada. U bespućima interneta naišla sam na prikaz knjige- ne," Read more of this review »

Maskerade holds a special place in my heart as it was the first ever Pratchett book I ever read. Here we have fully-formed Granny and Nanny, we have Greebo in full operatic regalia, we have a ridiculously operatic plot, and of course, we have the ori ...more

I eyed this sideways, as it seems like a bit of a gimmick book, with its constant run-on single giga-sentence structure, but the moment I started reading it became clear how unputdownable it is – only now and then did I manage to surface for air and ...more

This one is quite odd, mostly because it seems like a red herring – the title, cover, and some of the synopses seem to indicate that this would be a sort of Tolkien meets Heinlein comedic mashup, but it never became quite completely clear to me why t ...more

Poignant and dreamy, this is one of those books where the synopsis tells you much of what is in the book (until the very end), but it is still a delightfully enjoyable journey along a quiet, eerie, and claustrophobic apocalypse both as it occurs and ...more
More of Sebastian's books…
Robert A. Heinlein
“A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly. Specialization is for insects.”
Robert A. Heinlein

“Evolution has no foresight. Complex machinery develops its own agendas. Brains — cheat. Feedback loops evolve to promote stable heartbeats and then stumble upon the temptation of rhythm and music. The rush evoked by fractal imagery, the algorithms used for habitat selection, metastasize into art. Thrills that once had to be earned in increments of fitness can now be had from pointless introspection. Aesthetics rise unbidden from a trillion dopamine receptors, and the system moves beyond modeling the organism. It begins to model the very process of modeling. It consumes evermore computational resources, bogs itself down with endless recursion and irrelevant simulations. Like the parasitic DNA that accretes in every natural genome, it persists and proliferates and produces nothing but itself. Metaprocesses bloom like cancer, and awaken, and call themselves I.”
Peter Watts, Blindsight

Richard P. Feynman
“We could, of course, use any notation we want; do not laugh at notations; invent them, they are powerful. In fact, mathematics is, to a large extent, invention of better notations.”
Richard Feynman, The Feynman Lectures on Physics Vol 1

John Crowley
“That was what did the harm, knowing the one, believeing the other.”
John Crowley, Ka: Dar Oakley in the Ruin of Ymr

John Gardner
“Poor Grendel's had an accident. So may you all.”
John Gardner , Grendel
