Do You Have Stories in Your Head?
I have been writing stories for as long as I can remember. I was scribbling with crayons and then reading my stories to my daddy before I could read or write. I’ve always had notebooks with ideas and stories in them and files on my computer with half starts to novels, but in 2013 that changed. I saw that a childhood friend had self-published a novel on Amazon. I reached out to her to congratulate her and as we chatted I realized that I could do it too!
I dusted off a file named ‘Unnamed Novel’ and started working on it again. It became Allie’s Choice and I self-published it in November of that year. My family and friends bought it and read it, then nothing. But the writer in me had been reactivated.
I was doing a ‘practice’ scene that turned into The End and it was published in April of the next year. My family and friends all bought it and so did several other people. Everyone wanted more, so I wrote After the End and made a huge mistake. I was ready to move on to other stories and characters, so I killed one of the main characters so that I could be done with that series. Dumb move.
The Storm came next and to me, it’s the best thing I have ever written, but it didn’t sell very well. Then life changed in some big ways and I didn’t write much until last year. I had an hour commute each way and I started thinking about what it would be like if I had to walk home. That became The Long Walk Home. That book somehow took off and I went from making $10 a month from my writing to paying my mortgage with my writing. I am now working on the fourth book in that series.
If your dream is to publish the stories in your head or the ones in notebooks or files on your computer, I want to help you do that. I can help you avoid all the mistakes I made and help you navigate the ones that you will make in your writing journey. It’s never too late!

One Year Ago
One year ago, I published The Long Walk Home and I had no idea how much it was going to change my life. A year later, I am finishing up book four in the series.
To celebrate its birthday, The Long Walk Home is on sale for $.99. This is the perfect time to start reading the series, you will have plenty of time to read the first three books before the fourth one debuts in June!
Never give up on your dreams and never stop reading!

Shaking the Foundation
“That’s how it starts. With a small convenience like electric lights, then comes a bill that needs to be paid. That’s not so bad, so you add another and another until you have to sell all the time that you’ve saved just to pay for it all.”
Sophie Shepherd
Book three of the Walking Home series drops on Saturday, February 12th. This has been such a ride and I am blown away by the response to this series.
I am amazed at how many people have read my words and how many of you are following Sophie’s journey. This story started as something I did to distract myself on a long drive to work and then home again every day. I hope that this story not only entertains you but makes you think and maybe even learn a trick or two. I want to thank each and every one of you for reading and a special thanks to those who took the time to leave a review.
I’m not on Facebook anymore, but I do have an Instagram, @albrightstephanie, I’m on Goodreads, and I have a Patreon. I’m not good at Social media, but I’m trying to get better. I would love to hear your thoughts
There is no teaser for the next book yet, but there will be one and it shouldn’t be too long of a wait for it. Sophie and Jeb have a big story to tell and I’m not sure how many more books will be in this series, but I can’t wait to see what they do next!

My Writing is Comfort Food?
A recent reviewer compared my writing to comfort food. I love the analogy. So much post-apocalyptic fiction is violent and hopeless. I hope that mine is different, that it gives hope and faith in humanity's ability to get better and learn from its mistakes.
Here's what the reviewer said:
4.0 out of 5 stars Forget the Drama!

While meandering durning the pandemic. I have found that I need calm good things; for instance comfort food. Making it and eating it helps me feel more stable and together. Sure in this book there is excitement and adventure. But the background is solid with everyday evens taking on the importance they deserve. Take this read and devour it while savoring it bite by bite.
This is my new favorite review!

New Year, Better Me!
This year, I don't want to be a new me, I just want to be a better me. I want to go after my dreams with everything I have and so far, I'm proud of my progress. I am getting up early and writing before work, putting my dream first. My writing gets the best of my time, not the leftovers and it's already paying off.
I hit submit for pre-order today on book three of the EMP series. It has a title and a cover. It also has a beginning and an ending. It just needs a bit more in the middle to be done.
This isn't all me though. I wouldn't have this hope in my heart if it weren't for all the people that read my words last year. Over a million pages, just in the KENP program on Amazon.
So, in a few hours, Shaking the Foundation will be live on Amazon for pre-order. It will be live on February 12, 2022.

To celebrate I have a giveaway going on Patreon that combines two of my passions, words, and crochet.
Oh and I almost forgot, I'm promising myself a trip to Key West. I have wanted to go since I was in the second grade and this is the year!
What are your goals or aspirations for this year?

So This Happened....
In this last year, I have gone from having 1600 pages read in Amazon's KENP program to over a million since May. My new series has struck a chord with readers and there is much more to come. The first book, The Long Walk Home, came out in May. The second book, Sheltering At Home, came out on November 17, my grandma's birthday. The third book is on track to make its debut in February, on my birthday.
In all the chaos of the last two years, I have created something that gives people hope and I'm proud of that.
If you have ever read anything of mine, I want to thank you now. I hope that you enjoyed it, and maybe learned something. But most of all, I hope you were inspired.
I have started a Patreon, as I move forward in this journey. I know that some of my followers here on Goodreads have been here since the very beginning.
