Born and bred in the wilds of West Yorkshire, England; I studied History at Oxford University and Theology at the University of Leeds in the late eighties and early nineties. I've been writing stories ever since I could pick up a pen and am passionately interested in documenting the experience of gay people in a manner that goes beyond the all too often very metropolitan, youth based, niche culture that is often the face that the gay community presents to the world. I enjoy exploring the ordinary, everyday lives of gay people in a society that still is equivocal about fully accepting them. I confess that I'm not too interested in lives lived within a 'bubble' of those who are all the same.

Good to hear from you again. Yeah, a couple of things on the way over the next couple of months. A new novel: "All Blood Runs Red" which I'm really excited about ... just needs to 'digest' before the final revision.

Hah! The rumour mill has been busy, hasn't it? I've always had something of a fascination with the 'supernatural' as you call it; it sort of goes with the territory and may be to do with far too much M R James as a boy! I'm not too far from releasing a collection of short stories that combine an erotic frisson with a definite twist in the tail/tale ... maybe even a bit of a sting! It's been great fun doing them and it'll be good to see how they get on. I know you like a good 'chiller' in your reading so please let me know what you think.

Beyond that ... hmmmm, been resisting it for far too long but I really think that I have to go back to The Society of the Incarnation one last time. Odd, isn't it,. how you create a place and then keep having to re-visit it. This time, it will be the lives of the monks themselves, the back story to 'Shadow' and 'Cloven Tongues', that I want to tell. Do you want to know the full insider story that led up to Jack and Felix? What about Duncan, Anthony and the rest? I hope so because they really want to tell you, it seems!

Enough about me! How about you? I hear you have something not too far off being released . Going to tell or would that spoil it? Good luck with it, anyway. I can't wait to have a read.

All the best, as ever
