I’ve been inspired by Miranda Hart to tell people about my own issues with a chronic condition. Several years ago I was diagnosed with severe, chronic migraines. I went through a lot of medications, none of which worked, and in the end, had to have Botox treatments to deaden the pain caused by them.
I can function most of the time, but have a condition to manage that sometimes leaves me with a migraine no matter what I do. There are two times of the year (during the spring and autumn) when I’m pretty scarce because I’m spending a lot of time in bed. There are also other times when my migraines will flare up and I’m unable to write a new blog or give a new update.
So, now you know, and I feel better for having it out in the open!

I was surprised recently to have an email from BookLife congratulating me on my recent review in Publisher's Weekly.

Well, that was news to me! I looked it up right away and found that I really was in the February 19th edition with an Editor's Pick lightning bolt right next to it!

I'm overjoyed they decided to put me in there... and right at the top of that section!!!

I'm sorry for not getting back to everyone sooner. I've been experiencing what it's like to advertise a book, and it ain't easy! I can understand why, now, a lot of authors let someone else handle it!

You'd think advertising would be relatively straightforward, but I've been discovering that getting a click is NOT getting a sale. People are pretty hard to convince to buy something, even when you've got a great website, cover, description... even illustrations!!!

It's a process, but I'm learning and I learn quickly!

I’m very happy to say the my first early review, released by Wymanette Castaneda at Reedsy Discovery, is in and she rated it as a 5 Star Must Read! I can tell you when I clicked on the link to the review, my heart jumped into my throat, but settled back once I saw how much she enjoyed it.

I can honestly tell you that there were times I wasn’t sure that anyone would like this book, so I’m relieved and excited to see that things are off to such a great start!
