Mail Order Bliss: Happily Ever After

I'm happy to announce that Mail Order Bliss has just been released on amazon.com.

It's an historical romance set in Oregon in 1886: the second in the Mail Order Brides of Oregon series. It’s got a whole lot of sweet romance between our hero and heroine, and a little bit of mystery too.

In this book we find out what happens next for Ellie and Jared. In Book #1, Jared's Irish grandmother ordered him a mail order bride from the newspaper. Except she read the advert wrong and ended up ordering Ellie Bates, who was advertising to be a housekeeper. As we now know, everything turned out for the good in the end, but in Book #2 a new set of problems arise for Ellie and Jared.

Gergmins, Ellie's ex-fiancé from Boston, is in a bit of trouble. A very unflattering cartoon of him has been published in the Boston Times. Unfavorable references have been made to his appearance and the fact that his fiancé (Ellie) ran away from him. Now he is the laughing stock of Boston.

Gergmins decides to take revenge on Ellie in order to vindicate himself: he wants her back in Boston and married to him, or if he can't have that, he wants her ruined. I won't spoil the story by revealing too much, but he turns up in her idyllic Oregon town and threatens to destroy her happy life with Jared. He is an extremely devious man and goes to great lengths to try and frame her as a witch.

Jared is running away from committment with Ellie. He loves her but something is holding him back from asking for her hand in marriage. Will our hero and heroine get together in the end?

And what will happen when Jared decides it would be a great idea to order a mail order husband for his grandmother, Grammy? Might she find love too?

I do hope you enjoy this second installment in the series, if you decide to read it. Please let me know what you think!

Mail Order Love: Falling In Love Slowly

Mail Order Love has just been published on amazon.com.

It's a sweet historical romance set in Oregon in 1886.

Jared Ford lives with his grandmother, "Grammy", on a vast ranch in Oregon. Jared's a lonely, cute cowboy who is macho but also a kind and gentle man. He's thrown himself into working on the ranch since his parents died in a train crash.

He hasn't thought much about getting a woman in his life - that is, until he meets Ellie Bates, a housekeeper looking for a job. Ellie is all alone in the world after losing her family to typhoid. She has five weeks before she'll be forced into a marriage with a cruel and disgusting man, so she is willing to take any job she can find at short notice.

Grammy is a bundle of laughs, a fun-loving old lady who breeds Irish wolfhounds in her spare time. She wants Jared to have a wife, so she picks a mail order bride out of the newspaper for him. The only problem is, due to her bad eyes, she thinks Ellie's housekeeper advert is for a mail order bride.

I love writing about individuals and circumstances that are out of the ordinary. What will happen when a fated man and woman first meet at the train station? In this story, although they are both attractive, neither of them feel the impulse to fall in love with each other instantaneously.

In fact, Jared is slightly disappointed because Ellie is quite ordinary looking and plainly dressed. Ellie finds Jared intriguing, but she is more concerned about getting a job than fancying a man at that moment.

When they finally do fall in love, it's because they slowly fall in love with each other's essence. That "something" inside that makes them unique.

I hope you like my book if you read it. I'd love to know what you thought of it ... what you liked about it, what you didn't like too (!). Feel free to leave a comment.

What kind of western romance do you like best, what kind of situations make you want to keep turning the page?
