It's a time-slip novel, but I wanted to turn the traditional concept of the time-slip novel on its head. Yes, there's an element where the heroine goes back into the past and meets the hero, but because the hero comes from Ancient Sparta, life sucks back then, so when the hero ends up 'trafficked' into the future, he really does not want to go back there. Instead, he has to learn to survive in the modern world, which isn't entirely straightforward, because the individuals who snatched him in the first place want him dead, and well, he's a Spartan. He's duty-bound to seek an honourable death rather than accept a comfortable life.... It's great fun to write - it's sort of turning into my tribute to archaeology and archaeologists, and there's a cameo role for various historic monuments including Harlech Castle and Wayland Smithy! But it's complicated- multiple timelines, and a terribly complicated series of interweaving plots. It may be one novel, it may turn into two. I honestly don't know yet.(less)

I'll take a walk, do some editing, take some time off writing, work on the publicity side of things, have a change of scene. I've been writing for long enough now to realise that the muse will return when it's good and ready, and sometimes real life can intrude and push you out of the 'zone'. The secret is not to fret and not to panic!(less)
