Our Hype Video for Annanagar Tower Park, Chennai

Here is a high-impact hype-style video I made for Annanagar Tower park, Chennai.

Well, I’ve been visiting this park since I was a toddler. But I don’t think this park is getting the attention it deserves as a tourist spot. Only locals go there often.

So I thought why not make a hype/highlights video for our own Annanagar Tower park? 🙂

In the above video, I have included the sped up part of me walking to the top of the tower. I filmed it more than a year ago. They have once again closed that part now, maybe for maintenence. Hope they’ll reopen it to the public soon.

A lot of work is going on with the small pond inside the premises. Maybe they’ll bring boating this time, or maybe they’ll just renovate it. Actually, boating was available there when I was very young, but it’s been 30-years since they stopped it.

Even without these amenities, it’s one of the better parks in the city. It’s definitely worth a visit for visitors from other states and other countries too.

Is an iPhone worth dying for?

Is an iPhone worth the money?

Forget dying, when compared to a good Android phone, I think the iPhone is not even worth buying.

So when this news of a family dying because of an EMI dispute related to the purchase of iPhone surfaced (there may be other reasons too, but I guess this was the trigger), I thought why would anyone even buy an iPhone over Android?

There is only one reason why people will buy an iPhone – to show off. In other words, to establish their superiority over others. This happens only when you feel deep inside that you are inferior and only that iPhone can prove it wrong.

But the truth is – It can’t.

You can fake it with others, but deep inside yourself, you are only enhancing your inferiority complex. So, shortly after buying, you’ll be back to square one.

I think, unless we buy a luxury product for its utility, we are just postponing our inevitable fall as each purchase is going to set you back by a big amount, and respect will keep getting more and more expensive.

PS: I know many people will not agree with my thinking, but this is what I feel. As for myself, I will not take an iPhone even if someone gives it to me for free.

Engine Oil: A Key Factor in Your Car’s Efficiency and Longevity

Engine Oil: A Key Factor in Your Car’s Efficiency and Longevity

A car does not ask for much. It asks for fuel, attention, and a little care before small problems turn into expensive ones. Yet among all the fluids and filters under the hood, one stands above the rest as the quiet guardian of your vehicle’s health: engine oil. It slips through narrow passages, coats moving parts, carries away heat, and helps your engine survive the daily grind of traffic, weather, and time.

Most drivers feel connected to their cars in deeply personal ways. You rely on your vehicle for work, family trips, late-night errands, and those moments when life simply cannot wait. That is why understanding how oil works is not just a maintenance lesson. It is a way to protect something that protects you.

Why engine oil matters more than many drivers realize

Your engine is a place of controlled violence. Metal parts move at high speed. Temperatures rise fast. Friction is constant. Without proper lubrication, those parts would wear down quickly, overheat, and fail far sooner than they should. Good oil forms a protective film between components, reducing direct contact and helping the engine run smoother and more efficiently.

This also affects fuel economy. When parts move freely, the engine wastes less energy fighting friction. That means better performance and, often, fewer trips to the gas station. Over time, that efficiency matters. It saves money, reduces stress, and helps your vehicle age with dignity rather than frustration.

There is also the issue of cleanliness. Engine oil does not only lubricate. It helps trap dirt, debris, and byproducts from combustion so they can be filtered out. In that sense, it acts almost like a housekeeping system for your engine, quietly carrying away the mess before it becomes damage.

Choosing 5w30 engine oil for balanced performance

Not all oils are the same, and choosing the right one matters. Viscosity, or thickness, plays a major role in how oil performs in different temperatures. For many modern vehicles, 5w30 engine oil is a popular and practical choice because it flows well during cold starts while still offering strong protection once the engine heats up.

That balance is important. Cold starts are one of the hardest moments for any engine because oil has to circulate quickly before parts begin rubbing under load. If the oil is too thick, protection is delayed. If it is too thin for the engine’s needs, it may not provide enough cushioning when temperatures climb.

Your owner’s manual should always be the final word, but understanding the basics helps you make more confident decisions. A recommended oil grade is not a random suggestion. It is part of the engineering behind your vehicle’s performance, reliability, and lifespan.

Signs your car may be asking for help

Cars speak, just not with words. They speak through warning lights, strange noises, sluggish acceleration, and smells that seem out of place. If oil is old, low, or poorly matched to your engine, your car may begin to feel tired. You may notice rougher starts, louder operation, or reduced efficiency.

Sometimes the signs are subtle. A dashboard light flickers. The engine seems a little hotter than usual. Fuel economy slips. These are not dramatic movie moments. They are quiet warnings, and the smartest thing you can do is listen early.

There is a useful life lesson in that. A family friend once worked in an old building where the records room sat in a small annex behind the main office. It looked harmless, almost forgettable, but a tiny leak in the ceiling was ignored for months. By the time anyone acted, boxes were ruined and repairs were costly. Car maintenance works much the same way. A small overlooked issue can spread damage far beyond where it began.

How regular oil changes protect your investment

Routine oil changes are one of the simplest and most valuable things you can do for your car. Fresh oil restores proper lubrication, supports cooling, and helps remove contaminants before they can build into sludge. Skipping changes may save money in the short term, but it often leads to wear that costs far more later.

Think of it as a habit of respect. You are not just replacing a fluid. You are renewing your engine’s protective layer. You are helping seals, pistons, bearings, and countless moving parts do their jobs without unnecessary strain.

There is an emotional side to this too. Many people remember a first car, a road trip, or the relief of turning the key and hearing the engine come to life on a difficult day. That reliability is never accidental. It is maintained.

A mechanic once shared a story about an employer who insisted every company vehicle follow a strict service schedule, no exceptions. At first, some workers saw it as overcautious. Years later, those same vehicles were still running strong while other fleets had already become money pits. Discipline felt inconvenient in the moment, but it created trust, savings, and longevity over time.

Common myths that can shorten engine life

One common myth is that oil only matters when the warning light comes on. By then, damage may already be underway. Another myth is that all oils perform the same if they fit the bottle description. In reality, quality, formulation, and manufacturer approval all make a difference.

Some drivers also assume newer cars can go indefinitely between services. While modern engines and synthetic oils have improved dramatically, no engine is immune to time, contamination, and harsh driving conditions. Stop-and-go traffic, towing, short trips, and extreme temperatures all place extra stress on oil.

When 5w30 engine oil is recommended, using the proper grade can make a real difference in start-up protection and long-term wear control. It is not about chasing trends. It is about matching your engine with what it was built to use.

Staying steady when the road feels becalmed

There are moments in car ownership when everything feels uncertain. A strange sound appears. A bill looms. You wonder whether the vehicle that has carried you so faithfully is about to let you down. In those moments, maintenance can feel less like a chore and more like reassurance.

That feeling brings to mind an old story of a traveler who described a boat left becalmed on still water, unable to move though the destination was in sight. Neglect can do that to a car. It may not fail all at once. It may simply lose momentum, efficiency, and strength until every journey feels heavier than it should.

The better path is steady care. Check levels. Follow service intervals. Use quality products. Pay attention to changes in how your vehicle sounds and feels.

Your car gives you freedom, convenience, and peace of mind when life is already demanding enough. Protecting it starts with simple choices, and few choices matter more than proper oil care. When you respect what is happening beneath the hood, you give your vehicle its best chance to stay efficient, dependable, and alive with purpose for years to come.

GDN (GD NAIDU) Movie Review

GDN GD NAIDU MOVIE REVIEW

GDN (GD Naidu) is a recently released Tamil movie starring Madhavan. I had a lot of expectations for this movie, but I have to admit it disappointed me.

The movie is extremely well made, I don’t think I will want to dispute that, but the overall tone of the movie was negative.

The movie was mostly about Legend GD Naidu’s disputes with the Income Tax/Business Tax division, right from the British period that sadly continued even after Independence.

I feel, the movie makers could have made this a small part of the movie and focused on his innovations, business genius, etc. But they chose to make the tax issues the central theme of the movie and there is nothing inspirational about it.

I mean, when you focus on his scientific achievements and how it benefited the people back then, the movie could have been inspirational. The movie did tell all that, but somehow, the main theme was not about those, and that diluted the movie.

All that said, I still think it’s a well made movie. If you want to glimpse into the life of a legend called GD Naidu, you should watch the movie in whatever medium it is available now. Since my review is predominantly negative, I am posting after the theatrical run ought to have ended, so that this doesn’t affect ticket sales.

Teaser for our AI Music Video

You can watch the teaser for our AI Music Video from here (click).

For the first time, I generated the music using AI music generation tools. There are many AI music generation tools like Suno, Udio, Elevenlabs, etc. nowadays. I was curious and was not sure how well AI can generate Tamil AI lyrics + song. But AI did a great job with that too!

Of course, the realistic visuals and lyrics were done by me using AI + Animation. It is just mind-boggling to see how much AI can do nowadays. Hmm.. 🙂

LORD HANUMAN MUSIC VIDEO/SONG

Here is a Music Video with an Impactful song about Lord Hanuman (IN HINDI). While this song was made by my customer, I designed the visuals for this song. I used both animation and AI video generation to create these visuals. Hope you like the song,

I love the rhythm and power of this song. It was a pleasure working to design the visuals for this song because I was able to indulge in one of my favorite activities – Listening to a Great Song, while working! Hope you too liked this song and the visuals 🙂

Tuition Classes for Primary Kids @ Mogappair, Chennai (IF Edutainment)

TUITION CLASSES FOR PRIMARY KIDS IN MOGAPPAIR, CHENNAI: IF EDUTAINMENT

Nowadays, since both parents are working, they may not be able to spend sufficient time with their kids on a daily basis. It is important to monitor their homework, test prep, etc. Otherwise, it’s easy for kids to fall behind.

Also, there are first-generation parents who have started sending their kids to private schools. The kids may not be able to pick up what’s being taught, and might fall back on homework, etc. if unattended.

My wife has been running a home tuition centre for primary students at Mogappair, Chennai for the last three years. She has worked as a primary teacher in a school for over seven years.

So, if you are located in and around Mogappair (Chennai), and think this tuition centre can help your kids, do get in touch via whatsapp for further details: 9551547189.

Here is a Promo Video I made for our IF Edutainment Tuition Centre for Primary Classes at Mogappair, Chennai.

Ban AI *Now* before Millions Lose Jobs

I too thought AI was this inevitable evolutionary tech advancement required for improving our efficiency. But, no. There is a crucial difference between other technologies before, and AI:

Until now No technology could Learn and Think on its own.

If that doesn’t drive my point, hear it straight: AI not just improves our efficiencies, but it Replaces our Brain.

Our ability to think and learn is our biggest and unique strength. That’s the reason why we have been the dominant species on earth.

Now we are training our replacement in AI that’s better, faster, and cheaper than us.

If that doesn’t sound like a death knell, I wonder what will?

For example, look at the field in which I work: AI Video Creation.

Today, AI is so advanced that, with AI assisted workflows (mostly prompts) people can make an entire movie without actors, scriptwriters, voiceover artists, music directors, VFX artists, etc.

Let that sink in for a moment.

A movie that could cost crores to make can now be done in a few thousands, all by AI.

Agreed that the quality is not good enough yet. But the speed at which AI is learning and thinking, it will make better movies that us within a couple of years. Max.

Imagine how many technicians in the movie industry are going to lose their jobs due to AI.

If my analysis is right, it’s the same situation across industries as AI is everywhere. Already.

So, we are on our way to replacing millions of service industry jobs as Anything that is done on a computer can be done by AI – Soon.

Do you realize how big a tragedy that is for the humankind?

I am not even imagining the scenario when AI will take over the world from us, etc. It doesn’t have to do all that to displace us. Just making us jobless will do.

Will we act only after the damage is done?

Ban AI Now #BanAINow

Why are Cinema Halls Empty? #BacktoMovieTheatres

Why are Cinema Halls Empty? #BacktoMovieTheatres

Recently, we went to Rohini Complex theatre in Chennai. It’s a popular cinema hall/destination for movie buffs here. We went by around 9 PM on a Saturday for the night show.

I agree that night shows are not that packed, but there should have been a considerable amount of outgoing crowd from the evening shows? Unfortunately, we saw a very few.

There are at least six theatres in that complex. When I was in my college, I remember we struggled to get tickets in the same complex. We had to travel to the theatre twice – once for advance booking, and once for the actual show.

Sometimes we didn’t get tickets and had to travel twice for the advance booking! For a few blockbuster movies with big stars, we had to wait for days and had to know someone in the ‘inside’ to get ticketrs!

For us, the advance booking visit to theatres with friends was fun. I wonder then, even with the convenience of online bookings, why the current generation of youth finds it difficult to visit theatres??

Have they found so many other activities that are even more fun? Maybe they think they can eventually watch the movie on OTT? Maybe they think the food cost in Theatres are high (which maybe true in Malls, but not in individual theatres like this)? Are they so busy with studies and work? Are there no good movies releasing nowadays? Are there too many cinema theatres in the city?

Why are Cinema Halls Empty?

Why are movie theatres attracting less crowd nowadays? If you have a clue, let me know in the comments section.

We need to start a movement to change the situation: #BacktoMovieTheatres

Switzerland: A Dream Destination for Indian Travellers

Switzerland: A Dream Destination for Indian Travellers Switzerland: A Dream Destination for Indian Travellers

For Indian travellers, Switzerland has always held a special charm. Snow-covered mountains, crystal-clear lakes, scenic train journeys, charming villages, and perfectly preserved old towns make it one of the most aspirational destinations in Europe. Thanks to Bollywood’s long association with Swiss landscapes, the country feels both exotic and emotionally familiar to Indian tourists.

Why Switzerland Appeals to Indian Tourists

One of the biggest reasons Switzerland attracts Indian travellers is its stunning natural diversity packed into a small geographical area. Within a short train ride, you can move from lakeside cities like Zurich and Lucerne to alpine heights like Jungfraujoch or Mount Titlis. The seamless public transport system makes travel smooth, punctual, and stress-free — something Indian families deeply appreciate when traveling abroad.

Switzerland is also considered extremely safe, clean, and tourist-friendly. English is widely understood, vegetarian food is easily available in major cities, and Indian restaurants are present across popular tourist hubs. For many first-time Europe visitors from India, this sense of comfort plays a crucial role in choosing Switzerland.

A Perfect Blend of Nature and Experiences

Switzerland is not just about mountains. It offers:

Scenic train journeys like the Glacier Express and Bernina ExpressAdventure activities such as skiing, snowboarding, and mountain hikingCultural experiences in cities like Geneva, Zurich, and BernLake cruises in Lucerne, Interlaken, and MontreuxLuxury shopping for watches, chocolates, and Swiss souvenirs

For honeymoon couples, Switzerland offers romantic landscapes and boutique stays. For families, it offers well-organised attractions and kid-friendly activities. For senior travellers, the country’s infrastructure and accessibility make it comfortable and manageable.

Best Time to Visit from India

Switzerland is a year-round destination.

April to June – Pleasant weather, blooming landscapes, fewer crowdsJuly to September – Peak season with lush green sceneryOctober to November – Shoulder season with quieter experiencesDecember to March – Winter wonderland with snow activities

Indian tourists particularly love visiting during summer vacations and winter holidays.

Planning a Switzerland Trip from India

Planning a Switzerland itinerary requires careful selection of cities, mountain excursions, travel passes, and visa coordination. Since Switzerland is part of the Schengen zone, Indian travellers require a Schengen visa, and documentation must be prepared properly in advance.

Many travellers prefer curated packages that handle hotel bookings, transport passes, sightseeing coordination, and visa assistance. Companies like Dreamland Vacations India help Indian travellers design customised Switzerland holidays based on travel style, budget range, and comfort preferences, ensuring smooth execution from departure to return.

Ideal Duration for Indian Visitors

Most Indian travellers prefer 7 to 10 days to explore Switzerland comfortably. Popular combinations include:

Zurich – Lucerne – InterlakenGeneva – Montreux – ZermattLucerne – Jungfraujoch – Titlis – Grindelwald

Longer itineraries may combine Switzerland with Paris or Italy.

My Final Thoughts

Switzerland remains one of the most scenic and emotionally resonant European destinations for Indian travellers. Whether it is a honeymoon, family vacation, milestone celebration, or a relaxed alpine retreat, the country offers a balance of comfort, safety, and unforgettable natural beauty.

With the right planning and a well-structured itinerary, Switzerland becomes not just a trip — but a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
