Spec script finished for short film "A Notable Prisoner"
It's a very busy winter!
I've finished writing the spec script for the upcoming short film "A Notable Prisoner". The film will run about 70 minutes and we may be able to start filming B-Roll footage this summer, but the rest of the filming will be done in 2019.
I'm very excited to be working on this project with fellow author and playwright, Paul Leeper.
Also, I'm midway through the first draft of the third book in my series "Year of the Cat". Hopefully, "Paradise" will be finished and available by April 2018. I plan to box the whole series and have it available on Amazon.

Year of the Cat : Paradise (Part 3) coming soon!
Being an author requires a lot of patience. I have been writing fiction for over ten years, but being an indie writer and self-publishing all my titles can be tedious. However, I am happy to say that the third and final book "Year of the Cat: Paradise" will be out in 2018 and I have high hopes for this series. First, I'll be putting together a box set as an option to purchase instead of each book individually and, with a wing and a prayer; I'll be turning this series into script. I've gotten wonderful feedback from my readers and most of them say, "This should be a movie" and I say, "Yep, been thinking the same thing". I'm not sure how to do it just yet, but I have the drive to make it happen and I'm always up for learning something new.
In addition to expanding my horizons, I'm putting together an email list for my readers. If you'd like updates on my writing and release dates, please contact me on my website or visit me on Facebook. I'd love to hear from you. Best Regards!

Need a good editor?
I'd like to recommend my editor to anyone who is in need of a good one. Her name is Stephanie Marshall Ward and she has edited my last two books. She's very easy to work with, thorough, and makes recommendations for better word choices and general flow of the story. She has openings in April and May.
If anyone is interested, please contact me and I'll get you her information.

"Warning Signs"... almost done.
Okay, I have not forgotten to update readers on the second installment to the Year of the Cat series "Warning Signs". My writing time had been severely diminished. Actually, this whole Summer was one, long laughable event. Well, some laughable... the sinus/double ear infection and the added kidney stone was not!
I'm trying to get back into "my zone." The issue I'm having is I'm caught up on the book length. "Warning Signs" has fewer pages, about 35 less than YOTC (at least right now... wait until my editor gets a hold of it). Do readers get upset if the sequels aren't around the same length? I have a faced paced writing style, so it pains me to "slow down" and discuss the color of the flowers, and trees, and the little critters on the ground.
I've pretty much written all I care about Cat being in the Fortress of Shadows. Ruarc is not a happy camper with Catriona and "Yes", it's another cliff hanger. The Cat and Mouse (no pun intended) is in full swing, and Ruarc is such a devious ass. Cat has to be on her toes. Sometimes I feel sorry for her... if that's possible. Yea, it's a writer's thing. We're weird.
The third book, "Paradise", has Cat back at the Elder Temple and that's where all the @#$% hits the fan. Not that some hasn't already in "Warning Signs", just not as much. Think of a train leaving the station until it reaches full speed." YOTC" was the comfortable start, "Warning Signs" is chugging along pretty fast, and "Paradise" is where you wonder if there's an impending train wreck ahead, or will it pull into the station in one piece... LOL.
I still can't wait to write the surprise ending

Best Seller on Amazon
I'm very happy to see South of Reason listed at #18 for Best Seller ebook (Historical Fiction) today. Last week, Year of the Cat went to #11. Sure, it's "FREE" shout the naysayers. But indie authors need to get our work out somehow, and if people read it and enjoy it and it cost them nothing, so be it. Would I like to get paid for the 66 and counting downloads for the day? Of course. For now I'd just like to get the word out instead of having my titles buried with millions of others sitting in the ebook store collecting digital dust.
Someday, I'm going to make it. Someday :)
