Johnny's Treasure Adventure

This is a great halloween story for children and adults alike. Johnny and his friends help to solve a mystery, which spans beyond a century, when they find buried treasure near the beach. Together, with the help of the police department, they find answers for how the treasure wound up where it did and who it belonged to. But there is one piece of jewelry in the treasure chest that turns out to have a ghost attached to it. The ghost makes it frighteningly clear that no one else is to have the ruby necklace.

Re-homing Trouble by C.S.Crook

Re-homing Trouble Save $8.97 off the retail price of $12.96 when you buy the first 4 books of Johnny's Adventure Series in 'Re-homing Trouble'. This book includes 'Johnny's Reptile Adventure', 'The Skipper's Captain', 'Johnny's Heroic Adventure', and 'Finding a Home'. This is a heartwarming story about how a dog named Trouble brings together the most unlikely friends. Johnny’s young life is suddenly thrown into turmoil when his single mother is offered a better job, and Johnny has to leave the desert and dear friends behind. Johnny has always been a dog lover and longs for a dog of his very own. Johnny discovers a dilapidated old house just up the road from where he is now living and he is overjoyed to see a German Shepherd chained to a doghouse in the front yard. A grumpy old man, who has isolated himself from most of the outside world, tries to scare Johnny away, but Johnny does not scare easily. Johnny also stumbles across a group of children in the woods, who take him to a secret beach and teach him how to go sledding without snow. Together he and the children explore lush landscapes where berries grow wild and are guarded by gluttonous blue jays. And streams are filled with Steelhead trout that have grown huge in their aquatic world. Later, Johnny goes back to visit the elderly man and realizes that something is very wrong. Trouble is straining against his chain and barking wildly at the house. This is a story filled with nature, love and compassion. It is a story about people caring for and about one another. And all of the animals and nature in this story are a good mix for children with inquisitive minds. http://www.amazon.com/Re-homing-Troub...

Johnny's Treasure Adventure

'The Majesty's Realm' has had a title change to 'Johnny's Treasure Adventure' My blog today is a snippet from this book, enjoy!

Gary was the first one to regain consciousness. What he saw when he opened his eyes made him at first think he was having a nightmare. When he came to realize that it was not a nightmare, he wished that it was a nightmare. A slender arm reached past him from the backseat of the car to readjust the rearview mirror. The mirror was adjusted from a horizontal position to a vertical one. Gary looked at the reflection in the mirror and saw the beautiful young woman, which they had seen on the highway, just before the wreck. For a moment he had a glimmer of hope that she was there to help them, to rescue them. He turned in his seat, wrenching in agonizing pain as he did so, and what he saw made him scream in terror. This woke Denny up and groggily Denny opened his eyes. He looked at Gary, who was still screaming, and all of the color had drained from Gary’s face. Denny, with cold prickly fingers of fear running up his spine, turned and looked at what was in the backseat, and Denny opened his mouth and a scream ripped out of his body.

Re-homing Trouble by C.S.Crook

I'm very proud to say that my book Re-homing Trouble is currently #1 Best Seller in Children's ebooks on Amazon in both the humorous literature and animal dog stories and # 2 best seller in Cildren's books in the animal dog stories in the 100 best sellers list on Amazon in Childrens ebooks. Three quarters of this book is set in Fort Bragg and Noyo Harbor. Re-homing Trouble is a collection of the first 4 books in this series book # 5 is 'The Magic Wishbone' and # 6 is 'The Majesty's Realm'. The latter two are 100% set in Fort Bragg California.
In my series of children's books 'Johnny's Adventure', many of these adventures were my own growing up, on both the desert and in beautiful Fort Bragg, California. I have always loved to explore the world around me, both on foot and on horseback. My love of animals both wild and domesticated and my appreciation of the beauty of the natural world will pull you into these stories. Being very much a tomboy, I loved playing with horned toads and reptiles of any kind. Living in the country we had some very unusual pets, including a monkey. As an adult I shared my love of animals and reptiles with my children. These stories are written through the magical lenses of a child's eyes. My love for beautiful Fort Bragg and Noyo Harbor vividly comes alive in these stories. Blessed are those who live there today. http://www.amazon.com/Re-homing-Troub...

Johnny's Reptile Adventure

Johnny's Reptile Adventure (Johnny's Adventure Book 1) by C.S. Crook Johnny's Reptile AdventureThis is book number 1 of my children’s adventure series, of which there are currently 6 books. Johnny’s adventure starts on the West Texas desert, where his mother picks cotton and he spends his days finding adventure with his two older fun loving and mischievous friends. This story is set in the bygone era of 1957. Johnny is the only child of a single mother, and his mother’s co-workers and children become an extended family to both Johnny and his mother, Lilly. They sleep in cabins and share meals that are cooked and eaten outdoors. The two older boys own dogs and Johnny longs for a pet of his very own. There are very real dangers for young children living in the camp on the desert, one of which is a mean to the core billy goat called Rex, which belongs to Grandpa. Grandpa is really no one’s Grandpa, but that is just the name he prefers to go by. Johnny finds a horned toad, and he is ecstatic that he may finally realize his dream of having his own pet, but his mother is hard to convince. She sees no sense in keeping a reptile, because she doesn’t even like them, but Johnny’s friends, including Grandpa, goes to bat for him and finally they win Lilly over. Johnny becomes the envy of his two older friends, who are really more like brothers to him. With Grandpa’s help, Lilly is offered a job in a little fishing village on the West Coast. Johnny and his friends are devastated that they are going to be torn apart by the move. When Johnny finds out that the climate in Fort Bragg, California is too cold for his newly found pet he makes a heart wrenching decision. All of these stories are about friendships and people caring for each other.
