Holiday Extra Wicked Anniversary
Mr. Sykes and the Noble Muse
By Ginn Hale
Raindrops twisted and swung like glass baubles flung from a jewelry box as the wind tossed them through the darkening sky. The air tasted wet and smelled of apples turning slowly to cider amid decaying golden leaves. There were worse evenings to be out on a roof and considering the condition of the tiles there wasn’t really all that much of a difference between inside and out in a number of places.
“How bad is it?” Harper called up to me. He peered...

Third set of Hellion books well underway–A very rough excerpt.
Servants of the Unseen Shadow
By Ginn Hale
Chapter One
Twenty days of road dust caked Narsi’s body, hair, and clothes. His dappled mare looked gray as clay. He wasn’t certain which of the two of them smelled worse or felt more relieved to reach the renowned city of Cieloalta with its great display of public fountains.
Local merchants in painted carriages rolled past him, while herdsmen with their droves of swine, cattle, and sheep bustled around the fountains on the way to the famous mar...

OCTOBER
This is my favorite month. I adore the autumn colors, the quiet explosions of mushrooms and the moody weather.
October
This year October has two added delights for me. First, the print volumes of Champion of the Scarlet Wolf, Book1 & Book 2 are being released October 5th! Book Two includes the holiday vignette Ring in the Northern New Year just to ensure that the book weighs in over a pound. (1lb, 6oz. last time I checked.)
On top of that, October is also Queer Romance Month! I’ve been lucky...

Revisiting those Wicked Gentlemen five years on.
Beginning Monday July 13 a Wicked Gentlemen serialized short story will begin posting at itsaboutthebook.com and continue throughout the week. Make sure to check back daily to find out what trouble Belimai and Harper have been getting up to while attempting to settle in the countryside!
This story was written to celebrate the anniversary of the blog and also as a “thank you” to all the readers who have been so patient with my slow pace at the keyboard.

Round Two! Elezar, get out there!
It looks like Elezar and Skellan are heading back into the heat of battle. They’re a little bruised and battered but still willing to bring their very best!
And by very best I mean you, dear reader! (Seriously, you’ve all been great.)
Voting at dabwaha starts Sunday March 22nd from Noon to Midnight Eastern Standard Time.

Bribes!
Voting has just begun at dabwaha and so too has the traditional bribery.
So, here’s my bid: If either Champion of the Scarlet Wolf OR Highfell Grimoires makes it through this battle and one more, I’d be happy to take everyone with me to visit Javier and Fedeles for the holidays (by means of codas).
Wondering how the new norther home is working out for Javier and Kiram? Want to a peek into Fedeles’ world? Curious about Atreau’s many adventures?
Then please VOTE!

Elezar must battle once more!
The challenge has been issued and there can be no turning back!
Yes, once again into the literary colosseum that is DABWAHA. I’m honored and a little nervous to have Champion of the Scarlet Wolf going up against so many other great books and talented authors.
Right out of the gate, Elezar and Skellan will be fighting hard to outstrip the charming lads from Langley Hyde’s wonderful novel, Highfell Grimoires. (Langley and I will be one the sidelines, threatening and cajoling the battered charac...

Catherine and Inspiration!
First thing for 2015: a visit to Catherine Lundoff’s blog to talk about inspirations and confess that my own are often just strange.

Book Two Released Early!
Champion of the Scarlet Wolf Book Two is on sale a full eleven days early!
I think the magical elves at weightlessbooks.com must have been hammering away night and day to craft the digital files out of spider silk and stardust. (That’s my understanding of how mobi and e-pub files are derived from the heap of sweat-stained, crayon-written manuscript pages I turn in to my editor. Pure magic!)
