With a promise to never play small again, Suzette Hinton went from living in the background to taking her authentic place as a multifaceted entrepreneur and thought leader.

On April 6, 2013, Suzette released her first book, The Sound of My Life. In it, she talks candidly about losing the sound of her authentic voice and how she found the courage to live her life on her own terms. This liberating work caught the attention of the Editor of VMH Magazine (previously Fine Success Magazine) who surprised her at her book launch with the April Issue where her interviews with actors Rhona Bennett and Richard Lawson made the front cover.

Her empowering coaching style, lauded to by Dr. Towanna Freeman, President of CoachDiversity as “the best in the bus

Knowing that was very helpful to me because my last two books, The Sound of My Soul and Protecting Your Emotional G-Spot were written simultaneously. It wasn't overachiever's syndrome..lol. It came from a Higher Wisdom that said I had two books inside of me, much like being told you are pregnant with twins.

With The Sound of My Soul, what kept the words flowing was watching Oprah's Super Soul Sunday. Invariably some guest wisdom teacher or guru would say something that would spark an opinion or an illumination into my own soul. It was like being bathed in light.

Protecting Your Emotional G-Spot drew from another supply. Years before this book was conceived, I had studied about relationships in hopes of helping me with my own hangups. What sparked my chapters and content was reading old articles that I wrote and old posts from blogs and my journals. Also, conversations with my girlfriends would most often turn to guys and some puzzling behavior. It would get my juices flowing as I pondered their questions and researched for a broader understanding.(less)

“We must say "no" to what, in our heart, we don't want. We must say "no" to doing things out of obligation, thereby cheating those important to us of the purest expression of our love. We must say "no" to treating ourselves, our health, our needs as not as important as someone else's. We must say “no.”
Suzette R. Hinton

“If the person you're talking with continues to press you for more or can't seem to accept your answer, then you are being harassed. I know that sounds hard for people-pleasers to accept, but it's true. No means no.”
Suzette R. Hinton

“It is the doing of your calling that attracts the support of the God of the Universe. When I stepped into that space, the wind in my life changed direction. The doing rallied the Heavens. It was the voice of my faith. If you don’t do out of your being, you aren’t truly showing up. Maybe that’s what’s meant by faith without works is dead. Without it, there are no smoke signals going up to attract the people, resources or opportunities.”
Suzette Hinton

“Every life has a sound. A voice to be heard. A song to be sung. A note to be played.”
Suzette Hinton

“You are the only author of your book that matters.”
Suzette Hinton

“Certainly, it’s wise to ask for counsel in whatever you endeavor to do. There is safety in that. But when the asking comes from a place of dependence, it is unhealthy.”
Suzette Hinton

“Your humility is what secures your future and there is nothing like accountability partners who keep you real.”
Suzette Hinton

“You have to believe. Like a miner, you have to chisel through everything that is covering that belief until you hit it.”
