2020!!

We made it!!! Or did we?

We are on the 21st day of the new year. Hoot! Hoot! We have overcome blue Monday on yesterday and celebrated a wonderful man, leader and father!

Now, it's time for us to press on. It's time to make the goals or resolutions come to past.

It's time for a new you, just like you promised yourself. Don't give up now, 'cause you didn't lose those pounds yet. You will. But, if you give up now. It won't happen.

Keep writing that novel, although you haven't gotten but the first chapter. It will come to you and if the idea isn't there to finish that chapter. Work on the last, 'cause you know how you want it to end.

And if this is your year to start over...do it! Don't let anyone or anything hold you back. Be your best self. This is your year and a new decade for making that change. I know I will...stay tuned for more of my writing and publications. I've become a contributor on Harness magazine at www.harnessmagazine.com. Check some out under Mental Health.

Happy Wednesday Eve!!

53 is the the New 35

Fifty-three is the new thirty-five. Yeah, that's the name of my new blog post. Listen to it live on Spotify or Anchor and tell me what you think. This podcast describes trials and tribulations one might experience after hitting the century mark and over. Let me know what you think and maybe even share your story.

This project is also a start of a new memoir I'm working on, "50 ish..."

Accepted!

Hi there Goodreads fam!

I got some amazing news last week! On the eve of Thanksgiving when my flight had just hit the runway and my thousands of text are coming in because I had no service abroad. I see this text requesting me to be a featured author at their anniversary in January. Who you may ask?

Well...it is a prestigious book club in Gainesville, Florida, the Opinionated Ladies. I was floored and honored at the same time. They've had several best-selling author's to speak of like Kimberla Lawson Ruby, Reshonda Tate Bilingsley and others to name a few.

I'm so looking forward to this. If you're in Gainesville, please join me at the Main Library, Downtown Gainesville on January 26, 2019 at 2: 30 pm.

Peace and Blessings

Ten Things You Don’t Realize Til You’re Fifty

These are things I think about between writing sessions....enjoy.

1. Having kids aren’t bad.
Especially when they’re your grandkids and you can send them back at the end of the day.

2. When people mistake your age for a younger year….
No need to correct them, they did you a favor by taking off a few years.

3. Walking upstairs can become more challenging after the first flight.
Especially when it’s only three and an elevator isn’t an option.

4. When it suddenly gets hot and everyone else is not…. it’s a hot flash.

5. You can say what comes to mind when you see people looking and talking inappropriately. If they’re under 40. “Cause you’re old enough to be their parent.”

6. Taking naps are authorized.
Actually…they can become a must if you’re active. So, take advantage of them.

7. If you don’t have a hobby, take one up.
Everyone needs to keep their mind busy.

8. Just ‘cause you’ve haven’t accomplished that dream…don’t stop aiming for it. Make it happen.

9. Love, laugh, and party often…. the first more than the other two.

10. Lastly, stay focused cause you got fifty more years to go to make a century.

A New Year and staying focused.

Three things that keep me on track:

1. Meditation in am/pm
2. Running
3. Getting adequate sleep

This year has started off a little slow. Coping with loss...this past few months December and January have been especially hard. But, I'm coming back. What does this have to do with writing. Everything. With me, loss is hard to handle. I find myself in a rut. Sleeping more, not wanting to leave the house or the bed and not eating. But, then it's that little thing or something someone close says that gives me that extra motivation to get back on track again.

I'm not sure what it was this time, but I'm back and getting back to my 4 am schedule of writing.

What is it that gets you back on track? If you would please share in the comments. I think going out for a run was what got me back on track. Or maybe it was the movie I saw and that little voice in my head that said, "Why aren't your writing."

What' yours?
