Jay Miskowiec is the Translation Editor of Aliform Publishing. He received his MA and PhD from the City University of New York, where he studied with the great literary translator Gregory Rabassa. Miskowiec lives in Oaxaca, Mexico, where he co-directs Earthquake Arts with his wife, the installation artist and sculptor Lourdes Cué.

I think I know what I am, or at least what I would have been, or at least what I would have wanted to be--a philosophe, one of those French dudes from the 18th century (Voltaire, Diderot, d´Alembert, Laplace, Rousseau -- you know, the usual suspects), who were skeptical of religion and put their faith in reason.
