Jessica Carter was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1987. Published formally in TeenSpeak Magazine (2004 and 2005) for her poetry efforts-- she went on to become a published essayist and moderately accomplished fanfiction author. Claiming the name "Jay Rease," she has moved on to pen a variety of short story collections and numerous spoken word poems. Influenced by the likes of Margaret Atwood (The Handmaid's Tale), Octavia Butler (Parable of the Talents), and J.K. Rowling (Harry Potter), Jessica seeks to create new worlds, only to turn them dramatically on its axis. ...more
