RAY M. VENTO was born in Los Angeles and grew up back when children had fewer distractions than they do today. No TV, no smart phones, no social media. Ray listened to the stories his family told, listened to more stories on the radio, and went to the movies on Saturdays. These were the sources that fed young Ray’s imagination.

Ray’s grandparents came to the U.S. from Sicily. Over the years, Ray has been honing his writing skills with brief, personal sketches of his family and childhood friends. When it came to writing his first book, Nonno's Pocket Watch, he could find no better subject than his grandfather and his recollections of his years growing up in Los Angeles.
