Terri Wallace lives in Oklahoma with her husband, three children, and menagerie of cats. While working on the mythical Great American Novel, she is frequently distracted by ideas for short stories and cravings for vegan chocolate--neither of which can be ignored.

Terri is currently working on a collection of short stories set in the fictional town of Crankston's Landing. Her short story "The Collector" is the first in that series.

Her Name Is Gay Carter

Unless there is another delay, tomorrow (October 28, 2021) will become another milestone: the man who murdered my aunt will be put to death.

The space between her last breath and his was long.

8,386 days.

22 years, 11 months, 16 days.

275 months and 16 days.

In other words, a long damn time.

Neil Gaiman
“I like the stars. It's the illusion of permanence, I think. I mean, they're always flaring up and caving in and going out. But from here, I can pretend...I can pretend that things last. I can pretend that lives last longer than moments. Gods come, and gods go. Mortals flicker and flash and fade. Worlds don't last; and stars and galaxies are transient, fleeting things that twinkle like fireflies and vanish into cold and dust. But I can pretend...”
Neil Gaiman, The Sandman, Vol. 7: Brief Lives

I'm selfish, impatient and a little insecure. I make mistakes, I am out of control
“I'm selfish, impatient and a little insecure. I make mistakes, I am out of control and at times hard to handle. But if you can't handle me at my worst, then you sure as hell don't deserve me at my best.”
Marilyn Monroe

“People think dreams aren't real just because they aren't made of matter, of particles. Dreams are real. But they are made of viewpoints, of images, of memories and puns and lost hopes.”
Neil Gaiman

Neil Gaiman
“Things need not have happened to be true. Tales and dreams are the shadow-truths that will endure when mere facts are dust and ashes, and forgot.”
Neil Gaiman, The Sandman, Vol. 3: Dream Country

“There are so many fragile things, after all. People break so easily, and so do dreams and hearts.”
