I hope everyone is enjoying this cozy time of year!

Man, writing a series takes a lot of energy, but it's a positive energy! I've enjoyed working on The Creatures Beneath Us series so much. In my own opinion, there's a different kind of creepiness factor when it comes to monsters that come from out of nowhere and attack people.

So far, the first and second books in The Creatures Beneath Us series are available on Amazon. Book three is on pre-order. Book four is just about ready to go, but I'm still waiting on the cover.

Speaking of book covers, what draws you in when it comes to book covers? Does a picture stand out the most? Or maybe the style and coloring of the font?

Logan’s grip tightened on his daughter Abby and his neighbor Hazel as they were hurled to the ground. The sound of snapping roots drew their attention, preceding the fall of Logan’s redwood tree. They darted further away and fell beside Hazel’s rocking car as the tree was unearthed from the soil and fell forward through the air, crashing powerfully through Logan’s house. Just as he thought they were going to die in the destruction, the shaking slowly stopped.

The catastrophic earthquake destroyed their city. The power was out, cellphones weren’t working, and the death toll was increasing by the hour. After making sure Abby and Hazel were okay, they set off to follow the shrieks of the people who needed help around them, with Hazel’s dog Jack in tow.

Minutes later, Logan stared down at his elderly neighbor's deceased wife on the ground. As he tried to console him, an otherworldly scream shook the air. That was when Logan realized the aftermath of the quake wasn't the only thing causing an immediate threat.

As military copters increased their flights into the city, Logan knew he needed to get his daughter and neighbor to safety. They packed up and readied themselves for a dangerous journey, fully aware of the reports people were telling them of creatures that were attacking people on the streets.

How was everyone's summer? Mine was filled to the max! But now that it's winding down, I'm settling back in to writing mode. I've had a few projects in the past that I worked on but put on the back burner, partly because we moved and life got busy. And honestly, I'm really good at getting distracted :-) So I've resolved to sticking with a story idea I'm about 1/3 of the way finished with, which is about creatures that attack a city. I've decided to make it into a series of novellas. I'm super excited about it! Wish me luck on staying focused! Haha!

I'm slowly growing my collection of Goosebumps books by R.L. Stine. Does anyone else out there collect them? What's your favorite? I plan on reading through what I have soon so I can rekindle my childhood memories :-)

I've been working on recording my audiobook, and man, I sure am having trouble listening to my own voice! I am finally getting the hang of it though (I think) and my excitement is growing as I reach closer to my goal of finishing it.

Anyone else out there record their own audiobooks or podcasts?

I've decided to jump into the audiobook pool. Hopefully I'll stay afloat! I'm recording one of my stories that I have under a pen name first just to get my feet wet. Once that's finished, I'll be submerging myself into one of my regular novels. Okay I'll stop with all the water-related words now :-)

I've asked myself over and over again why I'm so bad at keeping up with social media, and I'm still trying to figure it out! A part of it is because I need to take more time at understanding how certain websites work. The frustrating part is that I'm in my 30's and I'm already behind on keeping up with the popular stuff haha.

I had a Twitter account, but I quickly took that down because I just couldn't hang with all the cool people lol. I really did try to understand how to post and reach out on there, but it got to be a little overwhelming, especially while also trying to navigate Facebook and Instagram.

So that's why I decided to drop my social media pages altogether and just focus on hanging out on Goodreads. But then guess what happened? I stopped hanging out on Goodreads too! So my goal is to try and make more appearances on my blog and get more comfortable with navigating the site.

So, do any of you struggle with navigating social media websites?
