Frederick S. Clarke (1948–2000) was the creator, owner, editor, writer, graphic artist, and publisher of Cinefantastique, a magazine about science fiction, fantasy, and horror films. The glossy magazine was based out of Chicago and began with a circulation of 1,000 in 1970; by 2000, its circulation had reached 30,000. Clarke also published another film magazine, Femme Fatales, about leading ladies in horror and science fiction films, starting in 1992.
