Hope finds a way

With some people doing their best to destroy our shared world, who – and where – do you look to for hope? Nature nurtures those who nurture it in turn but turn against it and watch its fury unfurl

#Excerpt – When the main characters of a #romance novel meet for the first time, sparks fly

When two people meet for the first time, it can be many things - fun, tedious, pleasant, awful, fascinating, boring - and it can be the start of a lifelong friendship or a century of feuding. It can also be love at first sight or hate at first glance, depending on how dramatic the set-up is [or how dramatic you are].This post is a chance for you to learn of the chaos and commotion that attended the first meeting between Mohini and Aalok of my #Indie romance, ‘No Escape from Love.’

#ShortStory – Smoke & Shadows – Romantic Intrigue by @AuthorReet

This short story is inspired by a need to revisit a time when it was more than all right to sit in coffee shops without a mask on, and to meet with relatives and friends as though a deadly virus did not lurk in the shadows.I had fun writing this from a male perspective and also enjoyed the challenge of exploring love, loss, acceptance, and intrigue in just a few words.

This heart’s a sponge

We don’t always have a choice about it, but whenever you can, choose to be in the company of those who uplift you. Your emotional well-being is worth fighting for. It is still February as I post this, but here’s wishing that every month is the month for love.

The silence is loud

A nightmare without end seems to be unfolding all over the world. The eternal optimist in me is trying to find a glimmer of hope that things will work out in favor of humanity in the end, but there are moments of grave doubt. Sorry for the pessimistic view-point, but war is not a topic… Continue reading

Book Review: ‘The Song of Distant Bulbuls’ by Simrita Dhir

The author's words bring to life pre independent, rural Punjab, and they color it with the hues of nostalgia. My parents and sisters spent every summer and winter in my maternal grandparents' home in their haveli in the village. I can vouch for every description and every dialogue resonating with me.

Anticipating the winter of life

“For death is the only certain thing in life, and despite this cliché being an absolute truth, with only the timing varying from one person to another, we never seem to be prepared for it.” Daniela Norris, On Dragonfly Wings: A Skeptic’s Journey to Mediumship Every Transformation is a Kind of Dying. Is it so… Continue reading
