Matthew Claybrook is a proudly married man, who believes in all the fairy tale descriptions of love, though not for lack of trying. Matthew was a dedicated underachiever in school, in all subjects except for wrestling, and so he is also a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He often fancied himself a musician, but no one else did. After the service, he endured several hard years and a failed guitar making business, cycling through poverty and depression. Then while in college, at the behest of his gorgeous wife, he finally and fearfully turned to his childhood passion; writing. He self-published his first threat to the public, a dystopian novella titled, “The Palmyra Chronicles” in 2013, and is still waiting patiently for his step-mother to read it. ...more

Simply Proud.

Sixteen years ago I was called a “n*****- lover” for having a black girlfriend, and I was in the minority to have a problem with it. This was living in the buckle of the Bible belt. I also got called a “Fa**ot” for just having a friend that was homosexual. This was the cool kids saying this to me. I wasn’t proud of that.
