quiet connection: the power of the right creative community

“She fears she will have to lose everyone
in order to save herself.
She has turned all her conversations inward.
In such a short amount of time, she has come to enjoy her solitude,
her reflective space,
so much that she has distanced herself from everyone.
Monopolized by transformation, she has created her own cocoon.
And she wonders if she will be hard to love, because she is so consumed with and comforted by her own little world.” — The Beautiful Disruption

when questions are all you have

Hi friends. I will be taking a break from the Monday story work post next week and will resume on December 6. At that time, the paywall will return, and the weekly story work exercises will be for paid subscribers, but I will always have something above the paywall for free subscribers, too. This note to self is a letter to me from that symbolic parent who gives me the emotional support that I always craved growing up. After that, I’m sharing my upcoming workshops, winter sale, and recent Story Work interviews.

This month, along with releasing a new book, you turned 48 years old.

I am so proud of how you have learned to love who you are.

the stories we're ready to reclaim

“The truth brings us nourishment that our souls need, even when it doesn’t necessarily taste good, and without it, we are malnourished. No matter how abundant we might look to everyone on the outside, only an individual knows when they are starving from not living the truth.” Story Work: Field Notes on Self-Discovery and Reclaiming Your Narrative

Over the past few weeks, through the Story Work Writing Challenge, we’ve been looking back and seeking out what our old stories, patterns, and belief ...

I know that part of it was knowing that the book is no longer mine alone. Now it’s out there, ready to be held by the world.

So I sat in bed ...
