I'm so glad you've enjoyed it. There IS another book in the works, though it's more of a spinoff than a direct continuation of the trilogy. It's working title is POLYMAKER. I recently announced it on my socials, but here's the description from Publisher's Weekly:

According to Stringer, the novel, which is set in the world of the author’s Paper Magician series, tells of Alvie Brechenmacher, a young woman who travels to England to “realize her dream of becoming a Polymaker—a plastics magician—and discover its hidden spells under the nephew of the renowned Magician Tagis Praff.”

I'm drafting it now. I hope you'll like it!(less)

The Half-Hearted Queen by Charlie N. Holmberg
"I don’t know how she does it every single time.

I don’t know how she does it every single time.
Yet another amazingly unique story that makes my brain so happy. "
The Half-Hearted Queen by Charlie N. Holmberg
"I absolutely loved the first book, and the second did not disappoint. The pacing starts a bit slower, with much of the first half spent inside Nym’s head, but that introspection adds depth and weight to the story’s darker tone. The emotional journey " Read more of this review »

"It felt so incredibly good to be back in this world and to spend more time with Nym and Renn. This book is so so good and such a good conclusion to this duology. I loved so much of this story. The vibes were immaculate and the plot kept me intrigued " Read more of this review »

"This was a stellar conclusion to an awesome duology!

Nym is SUCH a great example of a strong, bad-ass FMC. She goes through some major trauma in this book (like seriously) but even at her worst she continues to approach life with a grace we could all " Read more of this review »

“Faith is a very personal thing, really. Just because you don’t meet with a group of people once a week who believe everything exactly the way you do doesn’t mean you don’t believe in something.”
Charlie N. Holmberg, The Paper Magician

“Everyone has a dark side! But it’s their choice whether or not they cultivate it.”
Charlie N. Holmberg, The Paper Magician

“But she still had time. Surely she still had time. Stories like this one weren’t meant to end badly.”

“Cadoc sighed. “Someday, chief, I’ll avenge your sense of humor. I don’t know who murdered it, but it died before its time.”
Caitlyn McFarland, Shadow of Flame

“The world still has rules, we’ve just been playing with an incomplete set.”
Caitlyn McFarland, Soul of Smoke

“Wake her up,” she commanded Ashem.

The dark man folded his arms across his chest. “Politeness is the sinew that holds the wing together.”

Exasperated, Kai bared her teeth. “That is especially rich, coming from you. What is it, some kind of dragon proverb?”
Caitlyn McFarland, Soul of Smoke

“We don’t have that kind of magic anymore. This world—your world—you could call it our post-apocalypse.”
Caitlyn McFarland, Soul of Smoke

“Talking to Rhys was nothing like talking to Cadoc. With Cadoc, everything was a game. He smoldered because he meant to smolder. There was nothing calculated or put on about Rhys, and that made him more mesmerizing than Cadoc could ever hope be.”
Caitlyn McFarland, Soul of Smoke
