Think Fast…God is Watching. Coaching from Edith Mary

By Thinking rather than reacting By Thinking rather than reacting

What are you doing to raise your spiritual status?  In other words, how is God perceiving you?

Excuse me you may ask, but what are you talking about?  I’m talking about the stuff we do that creates positive or negative energy.  The stuff we do in between life and death; the stuff that few, if any people see but that you and God know all too well.

I think all of us at times fail to understand exactly the type of energy we are surrounding ourselves with and that we send out into work, home…well… everywhere actually.  For instance, this morning what I’m sure are some very nice people, decided to cut me off by merging quite suddenly into my lane without giving me any warning whatsoever and nearly causing me to have a car crash.

My first reaction was to call them names and use a few not so choice words.  Basically I said “you stupid *%#*%#@%*”, and yes that is a direct quote.

I know for a fact they felt that outburst energetically.  I was being rude and nasty but I was also frightened.  I reacted with fear and hatred.  I know that they felt it, because I felt it.  It hit me right in the gut.  The fear, hatred and sheer impact of my words did physical harm to me.  Every fiber in my body hurt for hours after my outburst.

I know they felt it because it’s the same reaction we have when we know we’re being watched.  Everyone on some level picks up things.  So they knew I was being nasty I knew I was being nasty and worse yet, God knew I was being nasty.  What do you suppose God thought of me at that moment?  I’m reasonably sure I went down a notch in God opinion of me that moment.  The universe was shaking its head saying “I thought I taught you better than that?”

We raise our spiritual status, but thinking rather than reacting.  By loving and extending compassion beyond what lies at our fingertips.  By understanding that others are having a bad time and yes, it could be me going through hell.  By forgiveness of self and others, God smiles on us and says, “Good job.”

Don’t call my name, please.

There comes a time when The Universe or God has such a great need for what you offer all of the obstacles are removed, sometimes quite suddenly and dramatically.   No matter how hard we try to resist, every excuse, every reason why we cannot succeed is taken away from us and we are left with the sad but true fact that we love our comfort zone, so much so, that we are often quite willing to ignore even our own happiness and future just stay there.

One by one our excuses are stripped away.   Everything,  every tool we need is suddenly at our fingertips.  We beg to remain under the radar, unnoticed.  We are not prepared and don’t know what to say.

When God finishes his belly laugh his answer is, “NO!  This is a job only you can do.  This is why you were born.”

Just such a thing happened to me yesterday. Every excuse every lie I had told myself finally dissolved and I knew beyond a shadow of a doubt I can not fail unless I crawled back into my comfort zone and told God where he could go and where he could put his plan for my life.

Re-born or Our Second Birthday

As an inspirational writer, spiritual life coach and artist, I always have a unique take of matters of life and death and rebirth into the spiritual realm.  Or, going back to where we came from. This particular post on With Ink & Paint Blog addresses a bit of that subjective.

While this subject is a tricky matter for some, more people than not believe in an afterlife.  That does not mean it is an easy subject to approach without some fear and trepidation.

We are born or re-incarnated into the human world at birth and at the end of life, back to the absolute world of God and Spirit as we die to the human personality.  Our souls reincarnate many times over the eons; this video does not provide reincarnation proof but may help to shed light and new perspectives.

Passion into Action

I have a great passion for many things, but not so much action.  So nothing really gets done.  Take my house for example; I have a passion for squeaky clean floors.  You know, the kind that you get on your hands and knees when you scrub and rinse and wax by hand.  What I don’t have is action, so my floors get a good mopping with the sponge mop and that’s about it.  Clean but not squeaky.

Practice until it become a good habit to think positive New Thoughts

I also have a passion for walking.  But with a bum hip and knee, not so much action.  We all have passion and a great caring for “something”, but few of us act on those passions.

You see, like thoughts, passion is meaningless without the wherewithal or guts to back it up with action.  Action is rolling up your sleeves and getting to work.  Action is moving your feet and getting involved in your own dreams and goals.

Too many of us allow our dreams to fall away through lack of moving off the couch and away from the TV or staying off the internet.  We fill our lives with activities, sometimes as a distraction to give ourselves an excuse for not moving toward our dreams.   We tell ourselves we don’t have time, but really what we are saying is that we are afraid to fail, so we won’t even try and our dreams stay in the back of our minds.  They become goals for tomorrow, and as we all know tomorrow NEVER arrives and fear and procrastination take over our lives.

What do you have a passion for?  All you need is the next step and then the next step will become clear.  Make the choice to move your feet and move in the direction of your passion.

’til next time.

Emotional Refunds

How many times have we packed away our past pain and issues?   We carefully wrap them up and put them away in the Attic in a nice sturdy box, not too far out of reach.  Forgotten for a moment, every now and again we go rooting them out and show them off like treasures.  We take them out, parade them around and play with them.

Letting go of the past Letting go of the past

We revisit our past sometimes far too often.  What we really need to do with our pain and old insults is take the whole lot of them and put them in the trash where they belong.  While it may not be easy to relinquish our pain, we need to decide if the past has a place in our futures.  Some certainly, but not the things that cause us to feel pain or when our issues prevent us from accepting happiness.

Pretend there is a store where you could exchange all the crap you don’t want or need any longer and get new attitudes, new thinking and ideas you do want.  Take that stuff to customer service and get a refund.  Then browse the aisles and check out all the new shiny thoughts and happy things you can get as a replacement.

Use meditation, affirmations and/or prayers along with the visualization as a catalyst of change.  Unless of course, you want to have the same old life for the next 30 years?

Labor of Love

As a tribute to my mom’s inspiration, I published From Life to Life on mother’s day.  From Life to Life, caring for ill, aging or dying loved ones is now on Amazon.

From Life to LIfe, caring for ill, aging or dying loved ones. From Life to Life

I was the caregiver for my mom right up to the moment of her death when the angels took over and led her away.  On my journey since that time, I have discovered much fear and helplessness from other caregivers, family and the community at large.  That’s when I decided to become a Caregiver Coach, to help people understand the process of dying and quell the fear.  To help make their caregiving a joyful time and lead other caregivers to find the balance and understanding that we need.

This book came about because I was charged with helping caregivers to cope and help in dealing the wide range of emotions they find themselves swimming in.  I’ve been there and want to help and support others on their caregiving journey.

Affirmation & Action

The window of opportunity will not open itself

The window of opportunity will not open itself

The clichés and #affirmations will only take you so far.  They will only work if you get off the #meditation cushion and move your feet.  Get into action.  Prove to the universe that you mean what you say.  The universe will give a sigh of relief…”finally”.

Raising the Stakes or Folding?

Tarot Cards

Tarot Cards

While it is true God dealt each of us certain cards for the poker game of life: but we do have to play them in the way they were given.  He gave us the entire deck to play with.   Just as with a rousing game of Texas Hold ‘Um, the cards we are dealt were meant to spur us on to create an even better hand—to create a better life and win the big jack pot in life.

Each card represents a keeper or a discard.  Just because you got it does not mean we have to keep it.  Each of us and the cards has a purpose.  Perhaps the lesson is that we can and should exchange those cards to create a better hand for ourselves to play with, thereby creating a better life for ourselves, those around us and to serve as an example to others of what is possible.  It probably the most meaningful thing we can do for the world; you make the world a better place, by improving your own life.

At every moment we are challenged by God, “Do you really want it? How badly do you want it? What risks are you willing to take to have it?”  We cannot to improve anything by staying inside the comfort zone, inside where we are safe and secure in our misery.  We must step out; we must risk ridicule, must learn from our failures and move upward, not just onward
