I can’t stand the FMC. Which sucks because I love everything else about the book. I love reading about the horses, dressage, eventing, even the barn chores. I am a horse girl; horse books are my favorite. But God, the main character is INSUFFERABLE. ...more

I bought this series because someone recommended it to me because I love books that play with form and text (eg House of Leaves, the astronomer’s club). And I loved the Silo series. So good. But these books were a bit disappointing.

I enjoyed this book. I like dystopia/apocalyptic tales and this was a good one. The only thing I didn’t like is that sometimes new information would appear out of nowhere. But overall, if you like this genre, I recommend.
