For me, writing has to flow naturally. Hustle is a good thing, but if I try to force the creative process, it'll come out feeling synthetic, lacking the heart I try to infuse my work with. I always try to give myself space away from it if the need arises.(less)

Write, write, write, write, read, read, write some more, read some more and write. Don't quit because of rejection, try harder. You will get rejected. It's going to happen. Keep on. Write. Get better. Don't quit. Don't let the insecurity that will eventually come knocking slow you down. Get beta readers and listen to constructive criticism. If you're into horror like I am, remember we're a community. Support other authors and they will return the favor. Those who don't usually have a short shelf life.(less)
